We’ll be there too!

Join us for the 250th Independence Day Celebration at the Clarke County Farmers Market! Featuring FREE Live Music from Mike Long, and Roaming Bistro Food Truck. We will have FREE popsicles & mini flags, as well as face painting!! This Saturday’s event is sponsored by the Clarke County Conservation Easement Authority. We are hosting 25+ local vendors who will be providing fresh produce, beef/chicken/pork, baked goods, eggs, coffee, handmade goods, skin care, plants, & more.

We’ll be back at the Clarke County Farmer’s Market this Saturday (6/27) between 8am and noon!

We’ll be taking orders for pierogis, and have several fresh made batches of specialty jams including:
Strawberry Rose
Blueberry Lavender
Peach White Tea
Blackberry Moscato
Hibiscus Green Tea
Mango Chutney

We also have fresh made Apple Butter!

Join us at the Clarke County Farmers Market this Saturday, June 20th, from 8am - noon for our 10th annual Geneva Jackson Pie-Baking Contest. We will be hosting this event in memory of Ms. Jackson, who is dearly missed as an incredibly influential member of our community.

“Ms. Jackson was known for her cooking and baking – as noted on her GJ BAKE2 license plate – but greater than that, she is known for her tireless service to others.

Over the decades, Ms. Jackson served many local non-profit organizations – often as a board member – including FISH of Clarke County, Help With Housing, American Cancer Society, AIDS Response Effort, Blue Ridge Hospice, and The Laurel Center shelter for abused women. She served as a Clarke County Officer of Elections since 1990.

Since 2017, the annual “Geneva Jackson Pie-Baking Contest” at the Clarke County Farmers’ Market has raised thousands of dollars for The Laurel Center. Those who entered pies for Ms. Jackson’s consideration were thrilled just to meet the legendary cook. A boardroom at the center is named for Ms. Jackson.

The Clarke Courier newspaper named Ms. Jackson its 1994 “Citizen of the Year” because of all her volunteer work. In January 2024, the Clarke County Board of Supervisors honored her with a resolution of recognition and appreciation, noting that at age 90 she had “only slowed down a little.”

Of her life of service Geneva Jackson always said, “Volunteering is like paying rent to live on this Earth.”

Garden Fest will be at Belle Grove Plantation this Saturday from 8am to 2pm! We'll be there serving hot food including pierogis, pork and sauerkrat and kielbasa! Here's a list of the many wonderful plant selections that will be available. Come early as some stuff sells out fast!!

If anyone is looking for some good food and fun this weekend I still have some spots left in my Polish cooking class this Sunday at Nibblins in Okd Town!

In this class we’ll be making 2 popular and delucious dishes - Hunter’s Stew (Bigos) and Polish meat buns (paszteciki) . We’ll also be sampling some traditional cookies - Walnut Kolaczki)
