When we extract honey, we first have to slice off the wax cappings. Think of this like a tupperware lid. Bees only cap the honey once it's ready. They fan it with their wings to dry it out to the right moisture percentage (usually around 15-17%) then they seal it in. They know exactly what they are doing!

Goldenrod often gets blamed for fall allergies, but it's not the problem! The real culprit is ragweed, which blooms at the same time. Goldenrod's pollen is too heavy and sticky to float in the air like ragweed's pollen.

Its scientific name (solidago) means to make whole. People have also used goldenrod tea for colds and sore throats for generations.

AND goldenrod is one of the last flowering plans in late summer. It is a great pollen sources for pollinators like honeybees!

It's BACK! 5 Spice Creamed Honey. This is our chai inspired creamed honey and it's the perfect fall treat.

We will be at the Chenault Vineyards market this Sunday, October 11 from 1-4pm. Then we will be taking a few weeks off from markets for a much needed break, but will be back at it in November and will be fully stocked with 5 Spice Creamed Honey then too.
