Along with methods on canning and preserving food for long term storage. We’ve been hinting around for sometime now, that big changes are going to take place on the page. So here we are, Black Swan Preparations, is slowly transitioning to Honey Ridge Homestead (officially registered with Ky Dept of Agricultural). We’ll still have some content about emergency preparedness, however now our

goal is long term sustainability and homesteading concepts. I know the page has been almost nonexistent over the past few years, that’s changing as of now! We’ve been very busy at our new location and we’re happy to show and share what we’ve been up to. I will say we’re still learning everyday how to be more sustainable and we want everyone to join in on this journey as well. So no matter what your skill level is we want you here with us through accomplishments as well as failures.

URGENT: The USDA has recalled nearly 30,000 pounds of beef, warning of “serious adverse health consequences or death.”

The recalled beef was shipped to stores in Texas and Florida and imported from Argentina.

The impacted products were sold under the “FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC” brand and include: “Top Sirloin Butt” (“Cuadril Sin Tapa”), “Eye Round” (“Peceto”), “Topside Cap Off” (“Nalga AD S/Tapa”), “Flat” (“Carnaza Cuadrada”), and “Knuckle” (“Bola de Lomo”).

The USDA is urging consumers to check their freezers and not consume these products, saying they “should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

We have Kentucky Proud Raw Honey, Homemade Honey Butter and Cinnamon Honey Butter, Homemade Cake like Honey Bun Cakes, Pumpkin Bread with homemade Cream Cheese, Apple Bread with Bourbon Caramel Glaze, and we have added Red Velvet Cake with Homemade Cream Cheese.
