"I already have a softener. Do I really need reverse osmosis too?"
Fair question, and the answer is often yes, because they're not doing the same job. A softener handles hardness: the calcium and magnesium behind scale buildup, spotty glassware, and shortened appliance life. Reverse osmosis works at the drinking water level, filtering out a much wider range of dissolved contaminants.
One protects your plumbing. The other treats what's in your glass. Plenty of Valley homes run both.
Not sure which one your water actually calls for?
