My chickens are only producing enough eggs to make sure Taco Tonto's—Kent can serve up their amazing brunch burritos each Saturday. But Traddles and Betsy are laying goose eggs! These are amazing for baking or quiche (a little rubbery for scrambled or fried). $1 each for the equivalent of 2 jumbo chicken eggs. Pick up at the farm or in Kent.

Surprise flush of beautiful, huge shiitake ON SALE! Because they are so big (about 1/4lb each on average) and a little heavier than usual because of the rain, they are only $10/pound this week. Pick up in Kent or at the farm. Perfect for grilling whole and sliding on a bun. PM or email me!

You’re seeing that right—you can now get Black Dog eggs at the Garrettsville Farmers Market! Stop by BB Farms, who is kindly selling them for me while I work my day job. As always, BD eggs are free range on pasture and are the happiest chickens in Portage County (except when Trotwood decides to honk aggressively at them)!

These sunshine and grass-loving chickens are laying lots of eggs right now, so we're having a Memorial Day weekend sale--$4 per dozen, pick up at the farm today through Monday or pick up Saturday in Kent. It's been a long time, but I have eggs for retail sale! The grass is greening up, the chickens are starting to lay really well, and the new chickens (that are mostly Araucana, so lay blue eggs) are starting to lay too, although they are having a hard time finding the nest boxes! Message me if you're interested--$5 per extra large dozen (plus one medium blue egg), pickup in Kent tomorrow or at the farm this weekend (or we can figure something out). I also have a few jars of honey left, too!

A big change, but a necessary one. Hit the ATM before coming to the market! And it’s worth repeating—this does NOT affect SNAP or EBT!

Starting in April the market will no longer swipe credit cards for $5 tokens. The fees and market manager hours incurred by this service are just too much for us. We have so many ideas around agricultural education, market programming, food acces, and more, all of which are a much better use of our budget.

The majority of our vendors accept credit cards, but some do not. Please check in with your favorite vendors and plan to bring cash to the market. All credit card use incurs fees, whether they're paid by the market or your favorite vendor, so having cash at the market is appreciated by everyone. This change does NOT affect SNAP and EBT, only credit cards. If you already have tokens, you can continue to spend them.

We move outdoors and back to our home on Franklin Ave. April 2. Until then, we'll see you Saturdays in March 10am-1pm at the UMC. Thank you for supporting local!
