🐝 In case you’re wondering where your honey comes from… this is the real stuff.

These are just a couple of the many hives we manage throughout the Windham New Hampshire area, but they capture what local beekeeping is all about.

Nestled beneath the trees and surrounded by natural forage, colonies like these spend their days visiting thousands of flowers, gathering nectar, and transforming it into honey.

No factories. No imported blends. No shortcuts.

Just healthy honey bees, thriving hives, and a lot of hard work from both the bees and the beekeeper.

Every jar of Spruce Pond Honey & Bee honey starts in places like this—out in the fields, woods, and neighborhoods where our bees live and forage.

🍯 Real bees. Real hives. Real local honey.

The 2026 honey crop is being made right now, one flower at a time.

🍯 The 2026 honey crop is officially in production.

Fresh nectar is coming in, new comb is being filled, and tens of thousands of bees are hard at work turning spring flowers into summer honey.

What looks like a simple frame today could become hundreds of pounds of honey by harvest time.

Nature’s sweetest workforce is back on the job. 🐝

This might look like a giant cheese wheel, but it’s actually pure beeswax 🐝

Every bit of this came from the thin wax caps the bees seal over their honey. After last season’s harvest, we melted it all down and cleaned it up into this solid disk.

🐝 Spring is officially here… and the bees are bringing in COLOR 🌸

Take a look at this—see that bright blue patch on the bee’s back leg? That’s pollen!

Bees collect pollen from flowers and pack it into little “baskets” on their legs (called pollen baskets). Most of the time you’ll see yellow or orange… but blue pollen is pretty rare.

💙 This color often comes from early spring plants like Siberian Squill, Wild Geranium, Phacelia or certain woodland flowers, and you only see it for a short window each year when those blooms are active.

👉 What this means:
• Flowers are starting to bloom
• Bees are finding real food again
• The colony is ramping up for spring

Every one of these tiny pollen loads is protein for baby bees—so this is a big moment for the hive.

After a long winter, things are finally waking up 🌼

🌼🐝 Spring is officially here at the hive! 🐝🌼

For the first time this season, the bees are bringing in bright yellow pollen—nature’s protein source that fuels the next generation of bees.

If you look closely, you’ll see those little golden “saddlebags” on their legs. That means the queen will soon be ramping up egg-laying, and the colony is starting to grow again after a long winter.

This is one of our favorite signs of the season… things are waking up, flowers are starting to bloom, and the bees are getting back to work.

🍯 Spring build-up = the beginning of this year’s honey
