Oxford Ag Single-Use, No Clean-up, Bio-Secure
Try Oxford Ag’s Electrolyte and Colostrum products in the Perfect Clean, adequate nutrition was our discovery!

Oxford Ag is the offspring of Dairy Tech, Inc., a company that has devoted the better part of the past 20 years developing equipment and protocols for commercial applications of on-farm pasteurization of milk and colostrum. Their early machines and protocols demonstrated that they could do more with pasteurization than they had with meds, vaccines and treatments. By 2004 they were testing colostrum and developed the first commercial colostrum pasteurization equipment in the world. In 2008-2009, Dairy Tech, Inc. developed the concept of the Perfect Udder® feeding system to provide the tools essential for proper colostrum storage and feeding. We’ve packaged our high-quality colostrum and electrolyte products in the Perfect Udder® Feeding System. And, while there are quite a few good products out there, we believe you will be hard pressed to find one that is easier to use than ours. Our goal is to produce great products that not only improve the health and well being of your animals, but also help make your job a little easier on you as well.

In a perfect world, the first meal a newborn calf consumes would always consist of nutrient-rich colostrum that transfers immunities and other growth factors from its dam. Since we don’t live in a perfect world, sometimes it is necessary to use a colostrum supplement or replacer.
Why not make your life and your calf’s life a whole lot easier. Try a bag of Oxford Ag and you’ll never want to tear the top off another foil bag ever again. Just Fill, Shake and Feed. It really is that simple.
Ask for it by name wherever animal health supplies are sold.

Spring calving decisions can be tough, but as a cow/calf producer, your keen eye is your best tool. Here's what to look for when deciding whether to intervene with a colostrum supplement or replacer:

1️⃣ Colostrum Quality Check: Assess the dam's colostrum. If it's of poor quality or in insufficient quantity, a supplement might be the go-to for that extra boost. Replacers come into play if the dam can't produce colostrum due to health issues.

2️⃣ Bonding Observation: Watch the dam and calf interaction closely. If there's a strong bond but the colostrum is lacking, a supplement is often enough. Replacers become essential when there are bonding issues, and the calf can't access natural colostrum.

3️⃣ Feeding Challenges: If a calf struggles to nurse or is slow to latch on, a colostrum supplement can help bridge the gap. Replacers, on the other hand, provide a reliable source of colostrum when suckling is challenging.

4️⃣ Multiple Births: When dealing with twins or triplets, consider using a colostrum replacer to ensure each calf receives a standardized, essential start. It helps manage the demand and ensures no calf misses out.

5️⃣ Health Check: If the dam faces health issues that compromise colostrum quality or production, a replacer becomes a lifeline. It guarantees your calf gets the nutrients needed for a strong immune system.

Remember, your experience and instincts play a crucial role. Trust your judgment, and here's to a successful spring calving season! If you happen to be in the market for a great colostrum supplement or replacer, we'd appreciate it if you would take a look at what we offer. We keep it simple, just fill, shake and feed. You have better things to do than the dishes.

Feeding with a ni**le more closely mimics nature. If the calf has a good suckle reflex and will consume the entire contents of the feeding within 5-10 minutes, then this is the preferred method. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. If everything worked properly in the delivery of the calf, it is up and nursing and not likely to require your attention. When we must assist delivery, or the calf is slow to rise or has a weak suckle reflex, then it is best to tube feed the calf. This can be done very safely. It is important to lubricate the tube, keep it clean, keep it fully inserted for the entire feeding, and withdraw the tube with the calf nose down only after all contents are out of the tube. Digestion and absorption of the colostrum is not inhibited by tubing. It is quick and oftentimes less stressful for the calf and the attendant.
