THE GREAT RABBIT FARM TAKEOVER
Farmer Fred (AKA Outback Acres) woke up one sunny morning, stretched, yawned, and headed outside to check on the farm. He stopped dead in his tracks.
There were rabbits.
Everywhere.
One poofy rabbit (AKA Tabitha’s Chicken Spa) was sitting on the tractor.
Three rabbits (AKA Harsch’s Border Collies and Belties, IronPeak Farm & Traveling Tails LLC, Carter Springs Farm) were inside the chicken coop.
Five rabbits (AKA Jones Rabbitry and Farm, Wild Moon Acres, 2 T’s Timber and Homestead, Whimsical Acres, Gigi Crafts and More) were bouncing around the garden.
And one very fluffy rabbit (AKA Hill Top Acres Farm) was wearing Farmer Fred's hat.
"HEY!" shouted Farmer Fred. "That's my hat!"
The very fluffy rabbit twitched its nose and hopped away.
Farmer Fred chased the very fluffy rabbit.
The very fluffy rabbit zigged.
Farmer Fred zagged.
The very fluffy rabbit jumped over a bucket.
Farmer Fred stepped into the bucket. CLANG!
"Well, that's embarrassing," Farmer Fred muttered.
Suddenly, twenty more rabbits came racing across the field.
Behind them came another twenty.
Then another thirty.
Farmer Fred counted as fast as he could. "One...two...three...four...Oh, forget it!"
The rabbits had officially taken over.
A tiny rabbit (AKA Amanda Arnold) was driving the lawn mower.
A fuzzy rabbit (AKA ANGRY BEES FARMS) was sitting on a bale of hay pretending to be a farm boss.
"EVERYONE REPORT FOR CARROT DUTY!" the fuzzy rabbit squeaked.
The other rabbits saluted.
Farmer Fred blinked. "Did that rabbit just give orders?"
The fuzzy rabbit nodded seriously. Then he handed Farmer Fred a clipboard. At the top it said:
"RABBIT FARM MANAGEMENT PLAN:
1. Eat carrots.
2. Eat more carrots.
3. Take naps.
4. Eat carrots after naps.
5. Blame everything on the chickens".
Farmer Fred looked toward the chicken coop. The chickens were staring back at him with deeply offended expressions.
"Don't look at me," Farmer Fred said.
Then came a loud crash from the barn.
Farmer Fred ran inside.
The rabbits had discovered the feed bags.
One thin rabbit (AKA Gone Feral) was wearing a feed sack like a cape.
A tall rabbit (AKA Choti si kahani Maa ki zubani) was sitting in a bucket.
Two rabbits (AKA Jarra Jarra Farm and Uncle Bubba's) were chasing each other around the hay.
And six rabbits (AKA Hensley Homestead, Diamond Haze Homestead, Three Little Birds Homestead, The O'Neal Homestead LLC, Fluff & Down Hideaway Homestead, Joshua Lopez) were having a carrot-eating contest.
"STOP!" yelled Farmer Fred.
All of the rabbits froze.
Farmer Fred pointed toward the door. "Out!"
The rabbits looked at each other. Then they looked at Farmer Fred. Then they all hopped toward the door.
Farmer Fred smiled. "Finally." The rabbits hopped right past him...and straight into the farmhouse.
Farmer Fred's smile disappeared. "OH, COME ON!"
Five minutes later, rabbits were bouncing on the couch, hiding under the kitchen table, stealing crackers, and somehow turning on the television.
The very fluffy rabbit wearing Farmer Fred's hat hopped onto the couch and grabbed the remote.
Fred sighed. "Fine. You win."
The very fluffy rabbit proudly put the hat on straight.
Then all the rabbits cheered.
From that day forward, Farmer Fred had a new rule:
Never leave a carrot unattended.
Because on his farm, the rabbits weren't pets anymore. They were management. And apparently...Farmer Fred worked for them.
