USPS & Shipping Live Birds

I know no one asked for my opinion… but I’m going to give it anyway.

Every single day we walk out of our house, we’re accepting a level of risk. That’s just part of life.

I’ve been seeing a lot of hate toward USPS lately—people saying to avoid them and calling their service awful. But do people realize… it’s pretty much the only way to ship live birds across the country?

Yes, there are transporters. And that can be a great option for some. But personally, I won’t bring birds onto my property that have been in a vehicle with 20+ other breeders’ birds. There’s just no biosecurity in that situation. It works for some—but it’s not for me.

The last thing this community needs is to push so much negativity that USPS decides to stop offering live animal shipping altogether. I’ve brought in birds over the years that I NEVER could have found locally without them.

Nothing is perfect. No service is perfect. There will be mistakes—because at the end of the day, we’re all human.

Just remember… with risk comes reward.

We have kind of put our poultry to the side for awhile to focus on other things. Right now we only have this pair of gray call ducks. Super excited for the future with this breed! We have eggs in the incubator from them, and all are fertile so we are hopeful for some adorable little babies!

Well we have officially set our first gray call duck eggs! They are growing!!!!! Only had a total of 6 so far.

I will go ahead and plan on shipping the Mille chicks. They are getting older. Better for shipping. Dm me. I wouldn’t hesitate, they are gorgeous!
