Everyday brings something new on the farm but this one has me scratching my head for sure. The boys and girls were together for breeding in October for one month (a sheep’s gestation period is five months) most of our lambs were born within two weeks in March. This evening I went to check on everyone and found this new addition. Seems as if someone got to this ewe after the fact. Cute baby, not sure if it’s a ewe or ram, will figure that out tomorrow.

Finally, after almost 5 years it looks like we might get some apples from our orchard. 4 of the 6 trees we planted have fruit!
Blueberry update, 8 pounds 14 ounces picked so far. 4 loaves of lemon blueberry loaf, 12 giant blueberry muffins and blueberry/raspberry cheesecake bars made. STILL have plenty of blueberries to eat alone. Next week will tackle blueberry jam!

Oh and the ewes and lambs have a couple of very nice pumpkins growing! They are such good pumpkin farmers! Haven’t checked to see how the rams did with their pumpkins this year.

And with the end of school comes the beginning of blueberry season. In three days we have already picked about 5 and 1/2 pounds from just one of our two bushes. We might beat last years record of 41 pounds! Stay tuned!

Another satisfied customer, apparently Susan (the pup) loves Little Bees Lip Balm, a product from our farm, so much so that she went through an entire tube in about a day. She’s a BIG fan of the Orange Dream flavor! Her mom was a tad annoyed!
