⭐️⭐️Long post please read and share!!
Does this look like a $500 hole or a $2500 hole? Why did we have a $2500 hole today? We had to bury a calf this morning. Calf was just born and we have no idea what happened but at this point it makes no difference. We don’t do sob stories here on the farm, we are very much put on your big girl panties and deal with it. This is an informational post to just help inform the public on what goes on a farm to provide food to the public.
To say we have had a hard spring is an understatement, from drought, rising feed cost, diesel fuel doubling, as well as animal loss due to predators and natural causes it seems like we are fighting a losing battle. Despite all these things we make the choice to get up and do it again!!
We would like to encourage you, if you don’t already support a small family farm such as ours, now would be a great time to start. Something else to keep in mind when shopping with us, is that for every pound of steak on a beef there is a minimum of 5-6 pounds of ground beef. Cows do produce more than a steak! Chickens produce more than a breast! For every chicken breast there is also wings, thighs, and drumsticks.
In conclusion, please consider purchasing more than the popular items (steak, chicken breast). We have to sell every single cut to remain in business. To our customers we say THANK YOU for your continued support. To our new customers we look forward to serving you in the future. If you would like to come see us this weekend our store is open today (Friday) 2-6, tomorrow 10-2 @ 3315 White Store rd Wingate NC. We will also be in the Waxhaw Farmers Market Saturday 9-12.
