Yesterday morning (May 28) Esther blessed us with a filly. She hadn't been showing any signs of being close, so I was surprised to see a foal. Placenta passed and baby had been up and feeding.

Rose's babies have all been built like tanks, her first c**t after four fillies is maybe her thickest yet! He is 2 1/2 months old and is doing very well with halter work. He will be looking for a new pasture at weaning.

I love our dilute horses, but why do they lie in the muddiest spots they can find on hot days. One day we will be able to do a photo shoot showing the entire horse, until then here's Esther (Arkenstone x Edith) and Mirabelle (Clyde x Plum) wanting loving. Mirabelle's feather certainly isn't lacking for a two year old filly. Mirabelle is 2nd and 3rd generation of our breeding and Esther is 2nd on both sides.

Our Story

The page is generally about the animals we love and raise, from our beautiful Gypsy Horses, which are otherwise known as Vanners, Tinkers or Cobs. Our senior mare is trained to ride and drive, with two younger ones being trained to ride. The boys have jobs too, our gelding and one stallion are trained to ride and the younger ones are having ongoing training. We raise Mangalitsa pigs, they are the ones who are wooly in the winter time. Sweet natured pigs and great mothers, they have relatively small litters but generally rear all their babies without the need for a farrowing crate to protect the newborn piglets. We have chickens for our own eggs, and often have eggs and chicks available for sale. We plan on breeding a few s*x linked chickens so that we can sell pullet chicks to town people wanting a few laying hens.

We hope to get more goats in the near future .
