It's been a while since I had to do laundry at the laundromat so I haven't posted any farm updates. Sadly, that's the only time I have free to say something witty. Here we go...

Several weeks since we started planting in the greenhouse and everyone looks very happy. The deer fence was fixed after much struggle untangling three lines of electric wire, replacing insulators and digging and replacing several posts that snapped. We hope it holds. Our packout shed received a new gutter system with the old damaged by hail and our new solarium is almost ready for the plants coming back from the greenhouse. We've directed seeded one bed of carrots and parsnips so far and have finished prepping one for peas and onions. Only about 47 to go. We've salted our asparagus plants, hauled out the last of the cut firewood and enjoyed doing all that on mostly beautiful days.

In the next few weeks I will be putting up our secondary temporary fence, cleaning out the packout shed, bringing home plants to harden off before planting, prepping as many beds as I can, landscaping the back of the house, hooking up and tightening the drip system. Making room to re-erect our tunnel. Exciting work in spring time. We look forward to the season and seeing everyone again.

Planting in the greenhouse begins net week and with snow still coming it’s tough to think spring but also necessary for my sanity. Excited to get hands in the soil and begin the journey of our new babies.

We are almost full for the season but have one spot left. Anyone interested please email us at [email protected].

Please don’t message me on Facebook I won’t get it. I can’t access that and I don’t check this enough and I would hate to miss you.

I’m excited to see everyone and meet new folks.

With the cold weather blowing, we haven't stopped thinking about spring and have begun our planting plans and project lists for this new season. As such, we have a couple shares available for anyone interested in becoming a member with us. If interested, please send us an email at [email protected] with CSA in the subject line.

If you are a current member, and haven't yet confirmed your membership, please let me know if you wish to be a member for 2026.

We only have a limited number of spots so please contact us as soon as possible before we are all filled up for the season.

Per usual, if you are a current member and refer someone to Willie Nillie you will receive one free box as a thank you.

Stay warm out there.

The season has come to an end, but we aren't finished farming. Seeds have been ordered, holistic and planting plans will follow in December and we are filling up our membership for next season. Thanks everyone for another amazing season of porch conversations and great food created. We'll see ya in a couple months!

Anyone out there know where I could rent or borrow and outdoor movie projector? I have the screen taken care of, but I'm trying to find a projector that hooks up to a computer or has a USB port for showing a movie. Any ideas?

Busy time of year, but I thought everyone needed some nature as a pick-me-up. Happy to report my farm has tons of bees, trees, happy plants, monarchs, birds, deer, rabbits, a skunk, raccoon family and a cat all co-existing together with only a few minor hickups. We will continue to do so because Mother Nature says so. Hope all gardens are blessed with a full life. If you ever need to take a deep breath and enjoy the sounds of the country, we are here for you.
