My barn steps are officially done. Thanks to those who gave me their random used decking, which I have kept for years and now finally made use of. I'm excited to store stuff and it's been fun driving up my driveway and seeing their magnificence. Thanks Jackson for all your hard work in hot and humid weather. They were truly built with Willie Nillie in mind. Now on to the next project...

Half way through our delivery season and it's so crazy how fast it goes. Lots of projects in the works including a new barn deck for accessing my upper loft. For years people have asked why there is a door just floating in space. Now I never have to answer that again. Instead they will be in awe at the steps you must climb to get to the top. Hauling wood and other materials to store out of the way and pretend I don't have them anymore. It'll be the perfect place to hide stuff I don't need right now, but don't want to toss. Excited to show the finishing result.

It's been a crazy year so far with hot dry weather, then rain, then cool weather now hot and humid with extra rain. So far the babies are holding their own and looking good. We are on to week four already as summer cruises by. I've enjoyed meeting new members and chatting with our lifers about how their winter went. I always love seeing everyone. Thanks to all for the support and for creating great meals with the produce we provide. Happy Eats! I'm extremely proud of our butter lettuce this season. It looks just like the picture in the catalog. I don't think I've ever said that. Had to share the picture with everyone.

First delivery this week and it went great. This year there was no worries and the weather was amazing. It was so great to see and catch up with everyone again, so much happens over the long winter months. Looking forward to all the great conversations this season. Happy cooking!

It's been a while since I had to do laundry at the laundromat so I haven't posted any farm updates. Sadly, that's the only time I have free to say something witty. Here we go...

Several weeks since we started planting in the greenhouse and everyone looks very happy. The deer fence was fixed after much struggle untangling three lines of electric wire, replacing insulators and digging and replacing several posts that snapped. We hope it holds. Our packout shed received a new gutter system with the old damaged by hail and our new solarium is almost ready for the plants coming back from the greenhouse. We've directed seeded one bed of carrots and parsnips so far and have finished prepping one for peas and onions. Only about 47 to go. We've salted our asparagus plants, hauled out the last of the cut firewood and enjoyed doing all that on mostly beautiful days.

In the next few weeks I will be putting up our secondary temporary fence, cleaning out the packout shed, bringing home plants to harden off before planting, prepping as many beds as I can, landscaping the back of the house, hooking up and tightening the drip system. Making room to re-erect our tunnel. Exciting work in spring time. We look forward to the season and seeing everyone again.
