Listen to the farmers! We keep a very close.eye on the weather, its almost a morning routine. Sit down have a cup of coffee and check the weather forecast. Hurricane Rachael will be moving up the western part of the state and bringing with it lots of rain and wind. Late Saturday into early Wednesday we can expect some.stormy weather. Stay out.of the washes, go pick up supplies, get extra gas for your vehicles and generators, check on your neighbors. Stack fire wood.inside. Just pls be safe. Take care of.one another.

This year was a challenging one. Destructive winds, blazing heat, torrential down pours and the prairie dogs from hell that literally ate everything they could find. But it was still a good year. Lots learned and experience gained. One of the bright spots was our trees this year. Especially our jujube trees. We finally got a good.haul of fruit from them. We put them in about 5 years ago and they finally produced.. You typically don't see them around here, as they are a tree native to Asia. But they seem to have taken a liking to the soils and climate in our area. Here are some pictures of jujube fruit. They have a texture similar to an apple.

It is pouring here at the farm. Big thanks to hurricane polo for bringing much needed moisture to the area. Pls be careful out there, do not cross running washes and don't travel unless absolutely necessary.

Its complete. Drip lines installed and mulched with straw. We will see all you garlic next year.

The 2027 garlic crop is in the ground. We have (7) 50ft beds of hardneck garlic. 3 rows per bed spaced 6 inches on the row. Time to lay the drip lines and mulch with straw. Then come june we will have a nice little crop of korean red garlic.

Well the beds are almost for the planting of garlic. Last year we planted (2) 50ft beds. We.saved the bulbs for thos years planting and now.we will be planting 8 to 10 beds. The varieties that we grow are korean red and musick. They both are the hardneck vareity

Decided to see if I could handle the heat of this super hot pepper. This pepper is called "fried chicken" created by Italian master grower and breeder Rocco Maltesi. This pepper tops out at around 1.5 million scoville units, while your typical jalapeno tops out at about 10,000. We grew this along with carolina reapers this year in addition to theother that we grow every year. This pepper is very dangerous and had me sweating for over a hour, I had the hiccups and numbness in my hands. Holy crap that was a bad idea.
