These can exist at the same time.

Comfort shows are nervous system regulation… I said what I said.

While I recognize avoidance can be an issue, I do think there is a component of nervous system regulation with a show that you know and love and know exactly what to expect from.

The world is a heavy place, and a lot of the times it can feel like overstimulation is a factory setting.

I think when done with awareness, finding comfort in the plot lines and characters of a show or movie that you love, can help regulate us when we need some downtime.

Join Sammy, Roo, Pip and I while they helped me through some gentle somatic work to help me support my nervous system while I’m experiencing a symptom flareup.

I always feel so honored when they hold space and actively participate in gentle somatic work with me. I’m always amazed by their enthusiasm, and I’m always so grateful for their skill and nervous system co-regulation.

Horses heart fields stretch much further than humans, and when we allow ourselves to tune in to their rhythms, they can help us gently influence and co-regulate the state of our nervous system systems.

Chronic ill illness, doesn’t always allow us to feel safe in our bodies, but the horses enthusiastic participation help us slowly come back into our bodies to whatever our ability is that day. They never require perfection. They just gently invite us to be present.
