SOUTHERN DAY 2026 was one for the books!!! 🤠✨
Wowowow, we always hope and pray for the best but when a line started forming 30 minutes before we opened, I couldn't stop grinning. Rumor has it that it stayed out the door until we sold out, but I wouldn't know because I didn't leave the kitchen 😂

Slinging those sandwiches was the best two hours I could have asked for. I love food service, I love the efficiency and rush of creating as fast as you can, I love the joy and community food brings. So many people make new friends while waiting in line on theme days and experience their first taste of foods they haven't been able to have otherwise. That's what it's all about folks.

To the people who waited, drove hours, THANK YOU!!! The vibes were high and we have YOU to thank!!! We wouldn't be here without you and we don't take it for granted - never have, never will. A shout out to this all star team for carrying the whole event and having so much fun while doing it. I am so blessed to work with the best. Not pictured is the stellar BOH crew who helped prep every delicious bite you ate. We wouldn't have this shop without them. May God bless you all and help us to continue serving you well 🤍 We love you!!!

Life Update!!! The (not so) little brother officially graduated and is in the workforce. So many family events occurred in the 10 years I've been baking for this community, but this one needed to be shared. Because he was "my why".

Many people know our story - how I got into the kitchen from a young age to help craft recipes for this little guy with unheard of allergies.

But here's what they don't know:

We spent about 2/3 of the first five years of his life in and out of hospitals and doctors offices trying to keep him healthy & find answers.

I used to wake up in the middle of the night and tiptoe to his room to make sure he was still breathing.

Due to his corn and soy allergies, almost all medication was off the table. This meant getting sick had far greater implications than usual. He could only receive one antibiotic, via injection, without the numbing agent. We would have to hold him down to administer them. I cry thinking about it and to this day, he hates needles.

I administered his first epi pen at his 4th birthday party. The natural beef hot dogs had a pork casing and he was anaphylactic. He couldn't breathe, we were panicking. I hit an artery and blood started spurting everywhere. I was traumatized. But then he took a breath and we cried in relief.

I wish I could say that was his only episode, but he has experienced many perilous moments.

Here is the beauty:

It's in these times you realize we are completely in God's hands. Only in Him can we find peace.

In being limited to such a pure diet, he is truly the strongest, healthiest guy.

He has a huge compassion and empathy for others.

It gets easier. Once kids learn their allergies and have a voice to advocate for themselves, you can breathe a bit. They can communicate reactions so they're caught early on.

I share all of this because HE MADE IT. There were times we never thought we would see this day. Allergies are terrifying, they're hard, they're inconvenient, they're misunderstood. Unless you have them or live with them, people don't get it. They can't.

But we do. We are here for you and promise to help you on this journey. You'll make it too 🤍
