Sorry for the late post, but we had a last minute alteration to the schedule but it’s covered now.

🌮 Tonight we welcomed back South of Brooklyn and their newest family member Philip!

🇳🇬 African Avenue jumped in on Wednesday and if you’ve never had that Jollof rice or the Meat Pies or the Schwarma wraps, you’re missing out. Plus if you like hot stuff… trust 🔥

🍷 Winnie Wine Pour Wednesday is back with two lovely French wines from Villa Roca, a Rouge and a Rose. Both will be served in 8 oz pours for just $6 each. While supplies last!

🪕 Bluegrass Sessions: Brightleaf Bluegrass will be performing a free show Saturday evening on the patio from 6-8 PM. Bring the family and enjoy the show!

🍣 Sushi Sunday is back with Sushi Empire handling the food, and we will have our special menu testing Sake and Japanese beers available as well!

🪕 Bluegrass Sessions: Brightleaf Bluegrass - This Saturday we welcome another local bluegrass outfit to the patio for an evening of old time music and original tunes. These boys are special, so don’t miss out. Bring a chair or a blanket, the family or your boo, and let the tunes wash over you. Show starts at 6 and there’s no cover charge!

🏈 NFL Kickoff Party - Football is back baby and so is Fortress BBQ! Brisket, Pulled Pork, Ribs, nothing pairs better with pigskin! Come watch the games at BD, wear your team gear, grub out, cheer em on, and we will even have a few games and contests available too. See ya there!

⚽️ Carrick Rangers FC? WTH?! - Yeah, we have hitched our wagon to the Carrick Rangers, a Northern Irish Premier League club and they’re in second place in the table. Come catch some exciting soccer at 10 AM on select Saturdays. One TV for CRFC, the other will be playing another big game, usually of the English variety. Morning drinking at BD!

🍺 Oktoberfest 2026 Presented By United Community - Our biggest event of the year is back and better than ever this year, with the same great beer, energy, and tradition, but loaded up with new features and fun.

🥨 German food by Bear Creek BBQ food truck, and Charcuterie-Brezels and Pretzel Necklaces by Yankee & Yall Charcuterie!
🪈 Music by the Piedmont Wind Symphony German Band and more tunes TBA!
🍻 9 German Beers on draft for punt pours and 1L stein pours as well!

What a week y’all! Beautiful temps, great food, amazing hangs, and the beer will be flowing!

🌯 Tonight, South of Brooklyn Food Truck is back from Paternity leave to do a BURRITO pop up! Get em while you can, plus $5 Burial Beer Co. Mexican Lager drafts.

🍷 Wednesday we are doing the second wine flight by Gönc Winery featuring four more amazing wines for just $15! While supplies last and one night only…

🏈 Saturday we welcome football back to our TVs. We will be showing the UNC/TCU game at noon, the NCSU/Virginia game at 3:30, and the FSU/New Mexico game at 7. Of course the Braves will also be on TV as well…

🎨 And Sunday, we round out the weekend with our Fall & Football Painting Pop Up with JK Woodworked Creations LLC which is SOLD OUT and we can’t wait to see everyone there!

So yea, what a week indeed!

Gratitude.

That’s the word that comes to mind when we reflect on Men Who Cook 2026 this past weekend. What an unbelievable experience. Let me count the ways…

To The SECU Family House, we applaud you, not just for an exceptional evening bursting with great food, laughter, and community, but for your mission to provide comfort and care to any and everyone when the moment feels just so colossal to confront. We are grateful for you. Raising $195k for this mission is no small feat. Bravo.

To my Smoke Revival brothers, what an honor to know that when we call, you jump in, you pour yourselves into it, you show up, and show out. I’ve come to expect nothing less. You guys are unrivaled, not just in the food, but in the way you conduct your business and treat people. I’m proud to be your friend.

To my guy Yev, thanks for jumping in feet first when I agreed to do this and needed a wing man. Love you buddy!

To the ladies behind us who support us, encourage us, and push us, we love and appreciate you!

And to the Brouwerij DuBois family around us who donated, wished us luck, bought tickets, showed up, cheered us on, and always believed in us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We raised $2,416 this year. We intend to smash that next year.

We were also honored to win 2nd Place in the “People’s Choice” category, for receiving the second most Tip Chips during the event.

But the big prize of the night was ours y’all! Each attendee gets exactly one Crowd Pleaser chip to give to the team that they thought blew it out of the water. We won that category going away!

So yea, thank you. All of you. We love you and we are just over the moon.

We have a lovely week planned here on The Outskirts of Town!

🌮 Taco Tuesday carries on even with South of Brooklyn Food Truck on Paternity Leave. Congrats on little baby Phillip! Our good friends Delia Martinez will be filling in with the best tamales and ACP around!

📚 Books At The Brouwerij is also meeting Tuesday for talk discussion of “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah. Feel free to join them!

🎶 Vinyl Night returns on Thursday with our friend Brian from Village Vinyl bringing crates of records for your shopping pleasure. But you can participate too by bringing an album for us to spin. It’s a great time!

🍕 Uptown Pizza is back on Friday for supper. Nuff said!

⚽️ Did you know we are officially a Carrick Rangers bar now? Northern Ireland Premier League soccer is a sight to behold and the club is off to a good 2-0 start. The Watch Party is at 10 AM on Saturday morning, so we are opening at 9:30 for morning drinking, plus the Southampton and Wrexham games on the opposite TV at the same time. come experience it with us!

TR is a disaster relief organization fueled by veterans, who respond to major natural and man made disasters to help with recovery, demolition, and reconstruction. Y’all, this is Sparky! These two awesome folks went to the Forsyth Humane and picked him up for a “Dog Day Out”

Sparky is somewhere between 1-2 years old, is very friendly and outgoing, not bothered by busy spaces, older kids, adults, or other dogs. He’s got good energy and a happy disposition.

Looking for a new pup?! Go see our friends down the street and let’s find Sparky a furever home real soon. He deserves it!
