Confession: I can be a cheap date sometimes! 💸

But when the deal is this good, can you really blame me? You will almost always catch me at Tijuana Flats for Taco Tuesday. Getting 2 tacos, chips, and a drink for just $6.99 is an absolute steal! And obviously, adding that side of queso is a mandatory rule because... why not? 🧀🔥

Normally I stick to the classics, but this time I decided to switch it up and try their Street Tacos... and yeah, I am officially hooked! 🤤✨

Oh, and I can't forget about their seasonal WAP (Watermelon Agua Punch) drink. 🍉💦 It is refreshingly good and the absolute perfect pairing for summer taco nights!

🍽️ I’ve had a bit of a roller coaster relationship with Ovation Bistro & Bar, Winter Haven lately. After being a frequent customer in the past, I noticed the quality started to decline for a while. However, my last couple of visits have been far better and showed real promise! Because of that, we decided to lock them in for Mother’s Day after seeing an advertisement for a holiday brunch on their website.
Unfortunately, when we arrived, the brunch was completely non-existent. It was a disappointing start to the holiday, but I have to give credit to management—the manager handled it professionally, apologized, and comped my meal.
From there, the food and service completely took center stage and turned the afternoon around!

Our waiter, Izzy, was absolutely fantastic and incredibly attentive. He recommended the Chicken Ovation for my husband—grilled chicken topped with sautéed spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, and a creamy reduced Alfredo sauce, served with garlic mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was a massive hit!
I ordered the Pineapple Glazed Pork Chops with sweet potato and broccoli. The chops were perfectly moist and delicious, and that pineapple glaze added the perfect sweet and smoky touch.
When the food is this good and the service is this attentive, it’s worth giving grace. Ovation is slowly getting better, and they’ve definitely earned another visit from me!

🚨If you haven’t been to LoveBird - Almost Famous Chicken what are you actually doing?! 🚨

Seriously, if you are missing out on this spot, we need to talk. Love Bird is nothing short of spectacular. I don’t know what kind of magic they are cooking up in that kitchen, but whatever it is, I need the recipe!
Let’s talk about the main event: The Fried Chicken. 🍗✨
It is the definition of perfection. Every single time, it comes out hot, incredibly crispy, juicy, and always fresh. Plus, they let you choose your own spice level, which is a total game-changer.
But you already know we have to talk about the sides!
The Collards & Macaroni & Cheese: As close to grandmother’s scratch-made cooking as you are ever going to get.
The Favorites: The Jalapeño Bacon Corn and the Bourbon Baked Beans have my whole heart. Absolute perfection. 🌽🥓
Pro tip: Don't skip the dipping sauces. The Bird Sauce and the Smoky BBQ are both elite.
