The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold in-person public meetings to gather input on proposed rule amendments to freshwater commercial fishing regulations.

ATTENTION ALL FRESHWATER COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN! PLEASE READ!
FWC is proposing some significant new rules for commercial freshwater fishing. Please read the attached FWC news release telling some of the new rules and regulations they are proposing. FWC is holding four public meetings to give more details and to gather public input. THIS MEANS YOU!
We will definitely be attending the meeting at Tenoroc on February 25 and highly recommend you do too. If you plan to attend you must follow instructions at the bottom of the news release to RSVP by email with your desired location (2/24 Okeechobee, 2/25 Lakeland, 2/26 Palatka, & 3/3 Defuniak Springs).

Good news! We just received word that Lake Hancock boat ramp will open tomorrow (Thursday 11/7) morning at 8:00AM

As always, SWFWMD could close it again in the event of significant rain.

Lake Hancock news...
"Polk County has put a plan in place to direct water away from Lake Seward to Banana Lake, ultimately flowing into Lake Hancock... Once water reaches Lake Hancock it becomes part of the larger volumes of the Lake and will ultimately flow through the P-11 control structure into Saddle Creek and beyond into the Peace River."

We were notified this morning by the office of Polk County Parks & Natural Resources that LAKE HANCOCK BOAT RAMP WILL REOPEN TODAY 8/23 AT 10:30AM.

Please share this post and information to spread the word.

Keep in mind they advise the boat ramp could be closed again if rainfall impacts Lake Hancock. We will share any information as soon as we hear about it.
