Sweet and fruity, a real tasty cup. You'll definitely want to give this one a try.

Our next Limited Release offering comes to you from the Rwenzori Silverback farm in Uganda. The Rwenzori mountains in the region of the same name provide the altitude and terroir for this coffee to be grown. The Silverback farm brings together a group of small-holder producers that grow coffee in this region and then bring the picked coffee on the same day for further processing. This natural process coffee was sorted by floatation and dried on raised tables for 21-35 days before its final processing in Kampala.

This coffee's unique combination of creamy body and mouthfeel along with its fruity sweetness make for an enjoyable cup with interesting notes.

Spring is here and in Madison County that means tour season! This week we had 50 visitors swing by for some hands on coffee immersion. We shared some of our signature blends and valuable coffee knowledge with our new friends that didn’t want to leave 😎☕️.

In this business it’s easy to get in the zone with our partners and other coffee professionals talking shop, but it’s equally rewarding to educate those we just met and send them home with new coffee experiences. ☕️👀

Last week we found a window between rain days for a controlled burn of our 32 acres of restored prairie. It seems like the wind is always blowing down here so finding the right time and people is always a task. Luckily, the wet conditions gave us some extra time for morning coffee ☕️😎.

With over 50 species of native grasses and wild flowers, the controlled burn helps to rejuvenate the soil by burning dead plant material and returning nitrogen and other vital nutrients to the soil. Burning also clears the prairie of invasive Eastern Red Cedar trees which are known to deplete soil moisture & choke out native plants.

In a few weeks these black fields will turn green and then bright with color, providing crucial habitat for our favorite birds and wildlife. Thanks to all the family and friends who showed up to help keep this one hot & safe. 🔥🌞☕️🌎🌱

Back to where it all began. One coffee, two ways, both using our Organic Women Producers coffee from Chiapas Mexico and Nariño Colombia.

Our Farmers Blend is a modern take on the traditional breakfast blend with mild caramel sweetness and a balanced acidity that makes for a light & smooth all day drinker.

The Dark Side of the Farm lands on the other end of the roast spectrum with that familiar hint of dark chocolate and a touch of smokiness.

It’s no surprise these signature blends are two of our most popular both at home & in our partner cafes. Whichever you choose, these workhorse coffees are remarkably consistent and will never let you down.

Pro tip - order the 5 pound bag on Subscription and never run out of coffee again. ☕️😎👍🏼

We roast small batches of the world’s best coffees on our century farm in beautiful Madison County, Iowa.

A little sweet, a little savory, and full of hope.

Our next Limited Release comes to you from an island in the middle of the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Lake Kivu. Idjwi Island is the home to the women coffee producers belonging to the cooperative Rebuild Women’s Hope (RWH). This collective was founded over a decade ago with the goal to fight the inequalities that women in agriculture face and to support their empowerment. It’s the group’s mission “to give women back their voice by placing them at the center of all integral development, in particular, economic empowerment and autonomy. We believe that income controlled by women has a significant impact on the life of the family, including the development and well-being of the community.”

Since its foundation RWH has constructed maternal and pediatric hospitals, water supply systems, and helped develop educational programs to support the sustainable economic and personal development of the women of the cooperative.

It’s something special when the coffee you choose to drink has a story of hope behind it, and it is great to be a part of the process of getting this coffee from Idjwi Island into your cup. With notes of grapefruit, cinnamon, and cocoa, we hope you enjoy this coffee as much as we have.

🥧 Weekly Pie Feature: French (Press) Silk 🥧

The wait is over… this week’s pie reveal is French (Press) Silk, masterfully and beautifully created by Julia.

This silky, chocolatey dream is a twist on a classic favorite, featuring a rich mocha silk filling with a subtle roasted note that brings a little café-inspired depth to every bite. That bold flavor comes from locally roasted beans from Pammel Park Coffee Co. adding just the right touch of coffee character to the mix. It’s layered on a buttery graham cracker crust and topped with a cloud of vanilla whipped cream that balances everything perfectly.

Decadent, smooth, and the perfect sweet finish after a plate of slow and low smoked BBQ.

Well, looks like we jinxed the weather by finishing up our Snowed In Blend, but we’ve got an exciting Limited Release dropping today! This Washed Process coffee from Sulawesi is great for both filter coffee and espresso with notes of toffee, raw sugar and a tart acidity that is balanced by some nice sweetness.

We’re excited to add this exceptional coffee to our limited offerings. Yolan Tirta is a third-generation coffee producer and has created a thriving coffee industry in South Sulawesi making use of the natural ecology of the region to grow his coffee chemical fertilizer free and utilizing innovative methods such as drying coffee in greenhouses in order to counteract the high humidity of the region.

It’s always special when the care a producer shows for their coffee can be tasted in the cup and that is definitely true for Yolan. Just grab a bag and see for yourself!
