After a trying first cutting of hay (racing weather and not having it as dry as we would have liked), Irene figured we were going to need 375 more bales to get through winter. I had sprayed it after first cut to get rid of some alfalfa, and the grass took off. It should have been cut during state fair week, but that was not going to happen. Yesterday we put up 173 forty pound bales. Today we knocked out 306. With about a dozen that broke and went through twice, we have about one hundred extras with only two cuttings.
