We had a great time today at Coopers Cup with the family! We met Lia with and her father and got to see all the wonderful LOCAL HANDMADE goodies. Very family friendly. And of course the coffee and service were AMAZING! It's always a treat to find such a great local business!

We are very excited to announce a new farm partner- Cornflower Bakehouse !! Check out this unique spot and get a bite to eat like no other. I made a kale shot for myself since my dinner wasn't exactly healthy last night. Our 3 year old asked for a sip and drank the whole thing!

I made a double broccoli shot and she drank one of those too and asked for more. I knew I had to hide from the kids when I was eating a sweet treat but I didn't know I had to hide my veggies too!!!

We had a great time at the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association Sustainable Agriculture Conference !

There were so many great workshops and it was great to see so many people invested in the future of sustainable agriculture in the Southeast. If you're a farmer of any type and not a member you're missing out!

In every way that divides people- colors, beliefs, politics, , etc- the whole spectrum was represented at the conference with everyone focused on the things that unite us like the need for clean water and healthy food. It was great to connect with all kinds of people.

And finally when I got back, overloaded with information, I found my family did a great job taking care of our little farm. Our first new batch edible flowers have popped up!

One of the best things about microgreens is that you can take all your recipes and renew them with different flavors and textures.

And kids can get excited about them! Our 3 year old had fun adding this red cabbage to her chicken "tacos" and more to mine. We finished half a package with lunch!

The green sauce is a "zippy sauce" - like a salsa/pesto combination with sweet pea microgreens (or shoots depending on what you like to call them) and sunflower shoots as the base.

Then I chose red cabbage microgreens for the polyphenols and so I can be full after a reasonable meal instead of being hungry again in 10 minutes- I was surprised the combination turned out great!
