Merry Christmas. Our final offerings of the year are at the Top Shelf and will be there till we retire on Sunday or till they disappear, whichever comes first.

You may find any, all, or none of the following when you arrive: Smoked Pastured Raised Turkey Breast with Pan Jus, Christmas Pot Pie with Bread Dressing and Cranberry Sauce, Shepherd's Pie, Fisherman's Pie, Chicken Pot Pie, Beef Bourguignon, Beer Braised Short Ribs, Meatballs, Chili, Smashed Potatoes, Giblet Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Collards with Smoked Ham Hocks, Rutabagas Aroostook, Braised Cabbage, Beet Soup, Stewed Mushrooms, Cornbread, Apple Cobbler, Eggnog Creme Brulee, Hazelle's Mississippi Sweet Potato Pecan Pie, and more.

Feeding is always a kind of miracle and I could write a book about all the miracles I witnessed along this way.

People are hungry. Really hungry.

Since we began on November 8, we've served at least 4,500 homemade meals at the Top Shelf.

Thank you to all of you who took advantage of our offerings and ate our food. Nobody eats everybody's food and so it's an honor to us that you eat ours. And if you don't eat our food but took what you needed from the shelf of essentials, we thank you for putting your trust in this place we call heaven.

Enjoy the final offerings of 2025.

Take care of your blessings in 2026.

Annabessacook Farm Stand will continue to remain open 24-7 till Sunday, December 28. We anticipate being able to provide some regular and special offerings on Christmas Day and throughout the weekend before the hiatus.

As so many of you have come to rely on the farm stand, we regret having to take this break.

Until then, we are still offering Milk, Juice, Meat, Eggs, Cheese, Yogurt, Berries, Bread, Butter, and nonperishables to those in need completely free of charge, no questions asked.

Top Shelf offerings remain on every shelf in the fridge right now. This past week and this weekend you may have found or find Cowboy's Pie (Smoked Meat & Potatoes), Cabbage Soup, Stewed Mushrooms, Hickman's Chili, Fish & Corn Chowder, Hickman's (Smoked Chicken & Sausage) Gumbo, Hickman's (West African) Beef Stew, Braised Beets, Carrot & Ginger Soup, Coconut Jasmine Rice, Cranberry Sauce, Sweet & Sour Pork Pockets, Chicken Pot Pie, Meat Lasagna, Cornbread, and more.

We thank again all the generous people who have offered food, clothes, shoes, blankets, art, and other resources for their fellow community members.

Over the past several months, it has become clear to me that, for a few families, the Top Shelf is their primary source of food at this time.

We remain grateful that we are in a position to help feed our community and build goodwill and better relationships.

We are located at 192 Annabessacook Road in Winthrop. Please stop by anytime.

Spread love. Make miracles.

It may be too cold tonight to leave any food out past 8 p.m. or so, but between now and then, Top Shelf offerings are abundant on every shelf of the fridge: Texas Red Chili, Forager's Pie (Mushrooms & Potatoes) Meatballs, Fish & Corn Chowder, Carrot & Ginger Soup, Spiced Autumn Parsnip Soup, Macaroni & Cheese, Sweet & Sour Pork Pockets, Braised Collards, Roasted Beats, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Relish, Cornbread, Sweet Potato Pie, and more. We'll put all the food still left back out in the morning when the weather warms. The same will be true for the rest of this month.

Yesterday, people dropped off groceries and clothes and shoes and pet food and paintings to share with the community. Thank you.

As always, the Top Shelf stocks Meat, Eggs, Milk, Juice, Cider, Butter, Cottage Cheese, Hard Cheese, Yogurt, Berries, Bread, Cereal, Canned Goods, and more.

And much gratitude to my extended Black Bloc BBQ family from Texas who came up for Thanksgiving weekend and helped out in the kitchen preparing food, washing dishes, and feeding my soul with their presence.

Spread love. Make miracles.

Thanksgiving weekend is upon us. The Top Shelf has taken over the fridge till all the Thanksgiving-inspired dishes disappear. And there are many. Please come, one and all, and take an offering home for yourself and someone you love. At the very least, let them know about it. All food is placed in freezer-ready packages. Eat some now, save some for later.

The Top Shelf is open 24-7 and all food is free of charge, no questions asked.

And when we say come one and all, we mean it. At a Friendsgiving, a friend wanted to get some pie but didn't want to take from someone in need. I respected the boundary in respect of community, but this weekend there is plenty of homemade food on offer.

So, please take whatever you want. If you wish, if you have the resources and the time, if you want to stock an item on the Top Shelf — Milk, Orange Juice, Berries, Citrus, Bread, Cheese, Meat, Yogurt, Butter, or anything else — I am certain our neighbors struggling to put food on their tables will totally appreciate it. After Milk and Orange Juice, the Berries, Butter and Bacon disappear the quickest.

It takes a community to feed a community.

A very special Thank You to the family of five from Leeds who showed up the night before Thanksgiving to offer their hands in harvesting collards, buying groceries, washing dishes, pressing dough and filling pie pans, packaging and labeling food, and ensuring that the Top Shelf remained fully stocked while I ran around like a you know what preparing hundreds of meals for this holiday weekend featuring food, family, community, gratitude, feeding our neighbors, and taking care of our blessings.

Spread love. Make miracles.

Happy Thanksgiving. Food will be ready at 2 p.m.

The Top Shelf at the Farm Stand will be open on Thanksgiving. Fish and Game dishes inspired by the first Thanksgiving meal in 1621 will be offered to go alongside modern traditional holiday meal favorites from around the nation: New England Cod Chowder, Wild Game Stew, Shrimp Bisque, Wood Roasted Turkey, Smoked Pork Shoulder, Chicken Pot Pies, Bread Dressing, Butternut Squash, Macaroni & Cheese with Five Cheeses and a Puree of Secrets, Seafood Gumbo Pot Pies, Smoked Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, Succotash, Collards, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Giblet Gravy, Baked Beans, Cornbread, Sweet Potato Pie, and more. My father, who did most of the cooking on the day, prepared two dishes so special, he only made them during the holidays. Oyster Dressing and Blackberry Cobbler. They were my favorite. If I can muster it, I will share them on Thursday.

What's your favorite dish?

Top Shelf groceries will remain available throughout the day. We will put out all the food for the day before stopping to enjoy a feast with neighbors and friends in the early afternoon.

We remain grateful for our neighbors' contributions of food, clothing, pet food, time, attention, and money. Thank you all.

Spread love. Make miracles.

A few afternoons ago, a young man, thin as a rail, was bagging food while I was restocking the shelf. He said he hadn't eaten in two weeks. His gratitude was palpable.

Food still moves most in the middle of the night.

A heartfelt Thank You to the neighbors who dropped off homemade Meatballs with Sauce, Blueberry Muffins, and a few non-perishables, and to the neighbors who put some money in my hand for groceries and ingredients.

Spread love. Make miracles.
