The Silver Queen is proving to be most prolific this year. Harvested another 80 ears this Labor Day Weekend Sunday morning. The more you eat (or freeze or can), the less I have to put up. But I'll tell you what, this crop has made the Smothered Corn, Corn Chowder and Succotash the best ever. Given the remaining ears with silks that haven't yet dried, we could have sweet corn for another 10 days or so.

Also, for the first time in about 10 years, are old Apple Tree has produced a truckload of fruit. We made a basket available at the stand. We still have no idea what variety they are, and no self-identified apple expert has figured it out yet either. But they taste good and make great Applesauce.

THE QUEEN HAS ARRIVED. Just put out 8 dozen ears of freshly plucked Silver Queen Sweet Corn this Sunday morning. The best corn around. Decent crop this season. Should be available for a week or more.
