📢 A Friendly Reminder From HogWaller Maple Farms 📢

We love meeting our customers and truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to stop by and see us. Our chicken coop and solar panel business is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

That being said, we are a very small operation, and most days we're either building coops, loading solar panels, making deliveries, or working with customers. Because of this, we ask that you please contact us and receive confirmation before stopping by.

We are always happy to have visitors, but we need to know when you're coming so we can make sure someone is available to help you and your trip isn't wasted.

Thank you for your understanding, your business, and your continued support. We look forward to seeing you!

📞 Please message to confirm and/or schedule your visit.🕗 Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM …Saturday/Sunday by appointment only

A HogWaller Maple Farms 5x6 coop is one of the smartest and most cost-effective investments a family can make for producing real food at home. It’s the perfect balance of flock size, feed efficiency, egg production, meat production, and overall bird health.

With a standard flock of 6–12 chickens, a well-designed 5x6 coop gives birds enough space to stay healthy while keeping feed costs manageable. That means more production, less waste, and easier daily maintenance.

The numbers make sense:

• A laying hen averages about 1/4 lb of feed per day• Six birds typically go through around one 50 lb bag of feed per month• Twelve birds usually consume about two bags monthly depending on breed and free ranging• Average feed cost works out to roughly $3–$5 per bird per month

For a 6-bird flock:

Roughly $20–$35/month in feed

20–30+ eggs per week during peak laying

Plenty of eggs for a household with extra to sell, hatch, or trade

For a 12-bird flock:

Roughly $40–$70/month in feed

50–70 eggs per week possible

Extra roosters or meat birds can supply high-quality homegrown chicken for the freezer

But the real value goes beyond dollars.

When you raise your own birds, you know exactly where your food comes from. You control the feed, the care, the cleanliness, and the quality. No factory farms. No mystery ingredients. Just healthy birds producing fresh eggs and clean meat for your family.

A HogWaller Maple Farms coop is designed around practicality , proper ventilation, efficient space usage, easy cleaning, and a footprint small enough for most properties while still large enough to maintain a productive flock.

Fresh eggs.Home-raised meat.Lower grocery bills.Healthier birds.Real food security.

Sometimes the best investment isn’t something complicated — it’s a simple 5x6 coop and the ability to feed your own family
