Good Monday morning! Wanted to make a quick post to introduce a new variety of microgreen we have started growing.
It is called a Basic Salad Mix. it is flavorful and colorful combination of microgreens that grow well together. It contains conventional seed types of: Broccoli, Kale, Kohlrabi, Arugula & Cabbage.
The arugula really makes this a flavorful addition to our microgreen offerings. Of course Broccoli is a very heathly addtion to this mix. Give this one a try I think you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Good Morning Everyone. Hope your week was uneventful and productive. Some minor changes at the markets this week. Our daughter Lindsay will be at the Salem Farmers Market from 8:30am until 11:30am or sold out.
Joyce will be at The Historic City Market from approximately 8:00am until 12:00pm or sold out.
I will be with one of our grandson's at an event we both wanted to attend. But you get a one week break from me 🤣.

We will have some extra items with us. But we will not have any Batavia or Red and green bibb. We will have some romaine, summer crisp and red lolla and microgreens. So you might want to get to the market early to get your pick.
Also may want to carry an umbrella or a raincoat just in case. The forecast has a pretty high chance of rain, 80%.
We'll see everyone at the markets tomorrow!

Good Friday Morning Everyone! For the most part this week has been a real nice one weather wise. Woke up this morning and it was 58⁰ here. We are going to finish July with 7.46" of rain. That should make a dent in the drought! Speaking of July today is it, the last day. For me it signals, get ready for Fall. Several things have to happen this month, among them, getting the covers off the greenhouse. The amount of daylight is dropping off fairly quickly now, so they need to be removed to take full advantage of the sunlight we are getting.
We will be at both markets tomorrow. Joyce will be at the Salem Farmers Market from 8:30AM until 12:00PM or until sold out.
I will be at The Historic City Market from 8:00AM until approximately 12:00PM or until sold out.

So come early and pickup some. And be sure to bring an umbrella just in case. Weatherman is calling for rain to start the month of August off.
See you at the markets!

Morning Everyone,
It's been a wet week here. Just over 3" in our rain gauge for the week and over 6.5" for the month. Still a ways behind what we need to break us out of this drought but at least this has put a good size dent in it. Now I'm happy about the temperatures for the next couple of days low 70's I can live with.
We will be at both markets tomorrow.
Joyce will be at the Salem Farmers Market from 8:30AM until 12:00PM or until sold out.
I will be at The Historic City Market from 8:00AM until approximately 12:00PM unless I sell out early.
We will have some extra items with us as well. Come out and enjoy the nice cool temperatures and visit us at the markets!

I will be at The Historic City Market from 8:00AM until approximately 12:00PM.

There have been a rash of outbreaks across the country of gastrointestinal issues due to contaminated produce.
Please understand the lettuces and greens we grow are not part of the ongoing issues.
We do not cut or process ANY of our lettuce. We only sell whole heads of lettuce.
There are only a maximum of three individuals that touch to products we grow and sell.
We have STRICT sanitation procedures in place to keep any possibility of contamination to an absolute minimum.
Lettuce sold to the public is individually bagged right after it is harvested to prevent any further contact that could potentially cause contamination.
It appears officials are tracing the contamination back to bagged lettuce you buy at the retailers. The processing of the lettuce is a point at which the possibility of contamination is at it's highest. If you have any questions regarding our products please feel free to call us at 540-334-6257, we will be happy to speak with you about our products and procedures.

Health experts believe they may have found a source of the cyclosporiasis outbreak.
