Black River Apple Orchard Just a mile south of Hwy 29 on county road O between Thorp and Withee, Wisconsin The orchard is family-friendly with picnic tables and a playground.

Black River Orchard is located only 1/2 mile off Highway 29 on County Rd O in Withee. Barb and Gordy planted 25 new trees in 2001 and today they take care of over 900 trees. (A hobby gone wild!) Their trees are the semi-dwarf variety and make it easy to pick the apples yourself. You are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and let the kids romp through the very well maintained orchard. ffer twelve varieties of apples including the popular Zestar, Honeycrisp and Snow Sweet. They also make their own apple cider and harvest honey from their hives. Black River Orchard is open on Saturdays and Sundays, or by appointment.

Only two Saturday’s left for the 2025 apple season. We have Honey Crisp, Sweet 16, Snow Sweet, Triumph, and Kindercrisp available. We are open Saturday, November 8th and November 15th, 9 am until 1 pm. Also have cider and really yummy caramel.

Apple season is close to the end. All apples are picked and in the cooler. Still have Honey Crisp, Snow Sweet, Sweet 16, Triumphs(a Honey Crisp cross) and Kindercrisp. The orchard will be open tomorrow (11/1) 9:00 am until 1:00 pm.

Black River Orchard is open on Saturday’s 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. We have HoneyCrisp, Zestar, Kindercrisp, Sweet 16, MacIntosh, Cortland, and hopefully, the Snow Sweet will be ready by this weekend.

Apple orchard season is fast approaching. The season opens with “Breakfast at the Orchard “ on Sept 6th. Come enjoy some “best pancakes ever “ and extra special scrambled eggs. Zestars are starting to ripen. Honey Crisps are looking good.
