What is a Cristalino?
​While it looks clear like a Blanco (silver) tequila, a Cristalino is actually an aged tequila (usually a Reposado or Añejo) that has been filtered through charcoal.
​The Process: The charcoal filtration removes the amber color picked up from the oak barrels.
​The Result: You get the complex, woody, and vanilla notes of an aged tequila but with the crisp, bright finish and clear appearance of a silver tequila.
​Tasting Notes & Details
​Aroma: Expect roasted agave mixed with light citrus and a hint of vanilla from the oak aging.
​Palate: It’s typically very smooth (hence the "Cristalino" style) with notes of toasted oak, agave, and a clean, slightly sweet finish.
​Proof: 80 Proof (40% ABV).
​100% Agave: This is key for quality; it means no "mixto" sugars were added, which usually leads to a better experience (and a better morning after).
