HUGE thanks to the Northeast Barbecue Society community group! They filled the fridge today with so much barbecue! We can guarantee it will be gone in less than 48 hours! These to-go boxes are perfect for our visitors to grab and go. Thank you for cooking for us!!!

Our church family is grieving as we mourn the loss of Carl Sullo, a fixture around our building and a friend to so many.

Carl was an active congregant at the Woburn UMC: attending service on Sundays, helping during our church clean-up days or annual yard sale, regularly enjoying “The Dwelling Place” and Dinner Church as a guest, and more.

He was a familiar, smiling face who loved chatting with everyone, whether it was about music, current events in the news, or the goings-on of Woburn.

Sadly, he passed away unexpectedly last Thursday, May 7. He is now warm and safe in the arms of the Lord.

Please join us this Saturday, May 16 at 2:30 PM in the sanctuary for a service honoring Carl’s life. All are welcome. ⛪️🙏🏼

Woot! Two big donations from party people this weekend which followed a nice donation of some lentil and potato stew from one of you! Thank you to the family who came back to label their pasta containers today after their son’s graduation party. And thank you to Julia Ford and her new wife Emily who got married this weekend and purposely planned to donate leftovers to the fridge. The fridge is FULL friends! Meals for days. Thank you all!

Hey Fridge Friends! Great finds at Market Basket if you have to pick anything up this week! 1/2 turkeys for $5 and chicken thighs and legs for about $2 a container. Our visitors would love these!

Hi Fridge Friends! You weekend warrior donators were out in force this weekend! Thank you for adding us and this community to your busy lives!

We want to shout out the groups that cook for The Dwelling Place Soup Kitchen on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at Woburn United Methodist Church behind which the Fridge lives. These groups arrange to cook and serve hot meals to our community three nights a week- it’s not a small feat to get enough volunteers to help AND buy and cook the food.

These groups have been donating their leftovers to the fridge on a regular basis. We thank them all and in advance! Thank you to Tara who always helps to introduce the Fridge to these groups so they can see that we are working hand-in-hand.

We have seen your generosity this week. We continue to get new visitors so your perseverance is amazing!
Now’s a good time to do a regular reminder of what makes for a good donation. Remember, if you won’t eat it, it’s not appropriate to donate. Think the hamburg buns from last summer that have been in your freezer, or that can of tomato sauce that you opened by accident and it’s been in your fridge. Sorry those should just go in the trash.
Our visitors love single milk cartons, fruit and yogurt cups, and sandwiches they can walk with. Many of them don’t have microwaves. We’ve been blessed with produce recently. Sometimes it goes, sometimes it doesn’t. Thank you for your ongoing thoughtfulness! Also if you save your takeout Utensil setups, folks love those!

Hi Fridge Friends!
We were the lucky recipients of a ton of pre-made meals. The are taking up the whole fridge currently which is awesome. Spread the word!

This made my whole day.
I stopped by the Woburn Community Fridge to drop off the last of our Kindness Day meals (and some ice cream)... and there was NO ROOM. Completely full.
That's because you guys are showing up. And it's working.
This fridge only exists because of the community. People grabbing a little extra at the store, cooking a bit more at dinner, or just stopping by to tidy up. It all adds up and it matters more than you think.
Heading into summer, I'm really excited to see how much more we can do.
If you've been thinking about helping, it doesn't have to be a big thing:
• grab an extra frozen meal while you're shopping
• pack up leftovers in a container and drop them off
• see a sale and scoop something for the fridge
• swing by and help clean/organize
Or if you want to get more involved, we're always looking for volunteers.
This is what community looks like.

Hi Fridge Friends:

We are grateful to get packets of food from Minuteman Senior Services every couple of weeks . We have found that our visitors love the milk, fruit cups, and packaged sweets. However we never seem to move this fresh pre-packaged bread.
Might anyone have another use for it or an idea of where it might be brought to be useful? Many thanks for helping think through some alternatives!
