A look back at the big greenhouse a few years ago.

So much has changed since these photos were taken. Storms came through, repairs became necessary, and plans evolved. That's the nature of a homestead—nothing stays the same for long.

Today, the greenhouse is being reimagined with new growing spaces and fresh energy. It isn't the greenhouse pictured here anymore, but we're excited about what it's becoming.

More photos coming soon.

🌈🌱ORGANIC IS FOR EVERYONE 🌱🌈

Here at High Mowing, we believe that organic 👏 is 👏 for 👏 everyone. Full stop.

In our daily work, we think and talk a lot about how to help growers of all ages, scales, and experiences to have the organic seed varieties and support they need to thrive this season.

We believe that organic agriculture has a unique role in creating solutions for some of the most complex and urgent issues of our time—from building food security to fighting climate change, building local economies, protecting workers and kids, stewarding natural resources, and improving community health outcomes.

Organic agriculture begins with organic seeds. And because of that, we’ve spent the last 30 years building a catalog of 750+ certified organic seed varieties for the ever-expanding community of growers across North America. 👩🏽‍🌾🥕

We're so so delighted and proud to partner with you in this mission. To the best season yet! 🫘🍅

Sunflowers have a way of reminding us where to look 🌻

They turn toward the light, and trust the seasons, and grow through whatever conditions come their way.

Maybe there's a wisdom in that.

A beautiful day isn't the absence of challenges - It's recognizing the beauty that exists alongside them.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Kernville Summer Festival. We loved meeting so many new friends and truly appreciate every conversation purchase and word of encouragement.

Our display was small, but it's only the beginning.

Tomatoes, squash, and cucumbers will be coming soon and available right here from our homestead. Be sure to check our page often for harvest updates and availability - we don't want you to miss out!

Thank you for supporting local agriculture 🌱

Imagine if public spaces did more than look beautiful.

Imagine fruit trees instead of ornamentals, herbs along walkways, and community gardens woven into the fabric of everyday life. Not to replace farms, but to reconnect people with food, seasons, and the land that sustains them.

Projects like Andernach remind us that food doesn't have to be hidden behind fences or shipped from thousands of miles away. Even small edible spaces can teach valuable lessons about stewardship, self-reliance, and community.

A tomato picked by a child, a handful of herbs shared with a neighbor, a fruit tree planted for future generations—these are small things. Yet small things have a way of changing how we think about food and our relationship with it.

More cities should explore what becomes possible when public spaces are designed not only for beauty, but also for abundance.

Every year we become more convinced that the solution isn't producing more food—it's rebuilding the systems that produce food.
The choices we make matter: where our seed comes from, how we build fertility, whether we invest in soil health or simply feed plants, whether we share knowledge or keep it to ourselves.

Healthy soil. Local seed. Trees. Compost. Biodiversity.
When we regenerate the system, abundance tends to follow.
