Happy Earth Day! 🌿 Today, let’s celebrate our beautiful planet and remember that we are all its stewards. It’s our duty to make conscious choices to preserve and protect this world for future generations. For some, this means transforming ancestral lands into protected natural resources that will forever remain untouched by development. For others, it’s as simple as choosing reusable straws over single-use plastics. 🌱 Every effort matters, and small changes can lead to big, meaningful impacts.

In 2026, we’re excited to be expanding our windbreaks, transitioning to edible perennial plants when possible, and implementing more rainwater catchment systems. 🌧️💧 What steps will you take in 2026 to help our Earth thrive? Let’s inspire each other to make a difference! 🌳✨

Happy National Garlic Day! We always look forward to seeing our garlic emerge in spring, but the rain has brought a lot of weeds too. I'm working on incorporating more perennial veggies into my garden as part of my Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Fellowship. out of British Columbia had an extensive selection of varieties and their expertise was really impressive. After a long wait - the seeds were misplaced after leaving the USDA in January - I'm thrilled to finally start planting and seeing how they'll do.

Aztalan State Park was our destination this week and it did not disappoint. The history is fascinating and the park is gorgeous. We've been wanting to go for ages and it lived up to our expectations. Cahokia Mounds in Southern IL may be next on our list.

🌸 Happy Spring Equinox from Wonder Farm Earth! 🌼 As we welcome the longer days and (hopefully) wave goodbye to the last of the snow, 🤞we’re eager to start getting more transplants into the ground. 🌱 Don’t forget, we have one more indoor market on Saturday, April 11th from 10am-1pm at the Wonder Lake MPOA (7602 Hancock Drive).
