🌱 Field Update 🌱

Walked the field yesterday and spotted the first baby pickling cucumbers of the season! 🥒

This morning, there were plenty of squash blossoms opening up across the field, which means we’re getting one step closer to harvest time. 🌼

With a little sunshine, water, and patience, fresh local produce will be here before we know it.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by for some free plants and helped make sure they didn’t end up in the compost pile.

We still have some larger pepper plants available for $3 each, including super-hot varieties like Ghost Peppers, Carolina Reapers, and Scorpions.

I took a walk through the field today, and it’s looking like our zucchini and pickling cucumbers aren’t too far away. If everything continues to grow well, we’re hoping to start harvesting in about 2–3 weeks.

🍯 Honey Update 🍯

To help keep up with demand, we added a couple more beehives this year. A big thank you to Harvard Eggs and Feed for still having nucs available so late in the season.

We’re planning to have our honey available around July 20.

We won’t be at the Mundelein Farmers Market (at least not now), but we encourage everyone to check it out and support the amazing local vendors there. The market features a great variety of farmers, makers, bakers, and small businesses, and it’s a wonderful way to support your local community. We appreciate everyone who has asked if we’ll be attending, and we hope to join in the future. In the meantime, be sure to stop by and show some love to all the hardworking vendors! 🌱❤️

🌱 Little Update Around the Field 🌱

It’s been a lot of long days and long hours, but we’re just about finished planting all of our vegetable plants for the 2026 season. The stakes are in, the fields are cleaned up, and the drip irrigation has been running day and night.

Farming isn’t always easy, but every harvest starts with hard work, patience, and faith. We’re grateful for the opportunity to do what we love and excited to see what this season brings.

We’ll be cleaning up the greenhouses soon and posting extra plants. Some will be free, and others will be available at great prices.

Thank you for supporting our small farm and making all those long hours worth it.

We just about finished planting all of our pepper plants, a couple thousand of them just to keep up with demand this season. They don’t look like much in the pictures but it’s well over 5,000 pepper plants🌱🌶️

One more step closer to harvest season. Every seed planted, every tray moved, and every long day out in the field is building toward something bigger.

Farming teaches patience, consistency, and faith. You don’t see results overnight, but if you keep showing up and putting in the work, eventually the harvest comes. 🚜☀️

Thank you to everyone supporting our small farm and greenhouse this year. We’re excited for the season ahead and grateful to be growing alongside all of you.
