My wetland restoration looks very beautiful this spring. it has three names the first one is Aldo Pond named after Aldo Leopold. also Beaver Pond because the beavers took it over one year and plugged the drainage pipe, and Richard's 's Pond because I fought with a DNR for 25 years to get the wetland restored. I I thank my friend ,Scotty Hausman, for helping me get the permit, Juneau County conservation department for a grant, US fish and wildlife for The overflow pipes and the ladder that controls the height of the lake, and Wisconsin Waterfowl association for their help. My Uncle Bill drained the wetland in the 1950s in the hopes that it would make more pasture for this cattle.. that did not work, but his drainage ditch became a huge ravine. I had the ravine filled in and restored the wetland.
