This is why we do what we do. And why we LOVE what we do.
We want the people consuming our goods to KNOW EXACTLY what they are eating. And know that they have been taken care of from start- to finish. You deserve to know that your family is getting the best goods possible.

I don't know why this bothered me so much. The isle reeked of damp cardboard and that distinct smell of egg shells. Musty.

We managed to be getting groceries this week at the same time they were stocking many of the isles. One of which was the eggs. For some reason seeing THIS MANY eggs piled up and stacked this way sent chills down my spine.

Now don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against poultry farmers and nothing against farms making a profit and a healthy living but this just didn't sit right with me.

The tag on the shelf read $5.09 for these eggs and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the number of times people have asked me "can you do any better?" on my $5 price tag on fresh eggs here on the farm.

I watched a couple walk up and pick up 2 doz and everything in me wanted to scream and tell them "no!" but I bit my tongue..

Between record corporate profits for these grocery stores and the introductions of new lab grown meats and artificial preservatives and Lord knows what else we haven't yet been told about it just sickens me to darken the doors of a grocery store. It makes me physically ill to watch hundreds of our hard earned money be spent on a handful of items that a year ago would have amounted to tens of dollars..

We desperately need more farmers markets and better accessibility for them. More promotion of local markets and less bail outs for gigantic corporations who are telling the farming what they're going to pay for products, not the other way around.

It’s officially, official!
We are so proud to be a part of the One Farm family!

Although the transition has been happening behind the scenes for awhile now … it’s time to officially introduce you all to our NEW EGG PRODUCERS – Muxfeldt Family Farm.

[Make sure you read to the end for an exciting promotion being offered this weekend.]

Meet the Muxfeldts, Party of 5.

They are a beautifully blended family with Wayde, Madilynn and Kolter keeping them on their toes. Between balancing schedules and changing diapers, Amber and Shane can be found rooting for their kids from the sidelines of sports events, volunteering for their church, spending time with family, or working on a project on their farm.

They have always loved the idea of living off the land as much as possible by learning the ways of previous generations – including gardening, holistic healing and living a more self-sustainable life in general. Their end goal is to produce a majority of the food on their own plates – while expanding in order to reach all of our plates, too. They have started small with a backyard garden and raising their own meat while teaching themselves as they go.

Amber says that when the opportunity to take over the 4G Farms egg operation came to them, they were excited to expand their homestead and impact our community in a likeminded way …. But … they were also a bit hesitant because - 200 chickens! :-)

However, she says they could not stop thinking about the opportunity and how it aligns with their goals. So they said, “To heck with it, let’s do it!” Now after lots of learning, inspections and proper licensing, Amber says her husband’s crazy idea is now a reality.

As a a fun introduction, Muxfeldt Family Farm is offering a discount on eggs for this “opening week” at One Farm Market. Eggs are on sale through next Wednesday, July 19, for $3 dozen.

We’re open Friday and Saturday 10-1, Sunday Noon-2 and Wednesday 3:30-6:30 p.m. at 215 East 7th Street in Logan.

Welcome, Amber and Shane, and thank you for taking on this venture. We appreciate all you are doing and look forward to watching you grow!
