We are celebrating our County’s 250th birthday with a few new tea flavors. These patriotic teas will be available in the Farm Store now thru the end of July.

We now have these cute little “3-in-1” flower vases that can also be used as an egg yolk separator or an herb stripper. Fill them with one of our mini-bouquets of fresh flowers or culinary herbs.

Anyone visiting the farm may be curious about the mounds of dirt near the silo. It's for our next project....which is to bury the old barn pads. Yes, we need another project like we need another hole in our heads, But, the opportunity for free dirt fell in our laps and we couldn't pass it up. The farm came with the barn you see in the picture and about 11 years ago we started dismantling it. (If you look really hard, you can see Bob up on the roof.) Once we cleaned up all of the metal, old wood, and junk we were left with the concrete barn pads. We've tried for years to do something with this area, but nothing has worked. So we're going to bury the barn pads and turn this into something pretty. Come watch our progress!

TEA CROP UPDATE. Well, they say a picture speaks a thousand words. And as you can tell from the picture, our tea plants took it on the chin again this winter. BUT, we are confident that they will start greening up soon. However, the hard winter, the April freeze, and the cool spring means that we will need to be patient again this year. Our forcast is that our crop is about three weeks behind. We're predicting our first flush by mid to late June. We'll keep you posted on the progress of the plants and will let you know when we have Maryland grown leaves in the Farm Store.

Sometimes it takes another person's eye to see the beauty right in front of you. I look out this window in the Farm Store several times a week, but I never really stop to LOOK. This photo was captured by a visitor to the farm that actually took the time to see the beauty. Thanks Jennifer!!
