⛈️ WELL, THAT WAS QUITE A STORM!

After weeks of dry weather & drought concerns across the DMV, Mother Nature certainly made up for lost time yesterday!

And while we needed the rain, a lot of water in a short amount of time can create some unexpected problems for your home's water system.

💧 WELLS & WELL PUMPS: Changing groundwater conditions can affect water levels, stir up sediment, and potentially impact water quality & pump performance.

🔧 WATER TREATMENT: Increased sediment & changes in water quality can mean clogged filters, cloudy water & a strain on your water filtration systems.

🏠 PLUMBING & DRAINAGE: Heavy rain can overwhelm sump pumps, expose drainage problems, and lead to basement flooding or backups.

OUR ADVICE? Keep an eye on your water over the next few days. Should you see any changes in pressure, color, odor, or taste please contact us!

💧 INSTALLATION OF THE DAY — MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND!

For this home, we installed:
💧 Two 300-gallon water storage tanks
⚙️ Pedrollo USA water booster pump
🦠 VIQUA Ultraviolet light for bacteria in water
🔹 Pre & post sediment filters
💦 Replumbed the existing water softener
🔧 Replumbed & reorganized the entire water treatment area

The result is 600 gallons of water storage, dependable water pressure, additional filtration, bacteria protection & a much cleaner, more organized system.

🚨 WATER ALERT FOR MONTGOMERY & PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTIES 🚨

A power outage at WSSC Water’s Potomac Water Filtration Plant is affecting the system that serves approximately 1.9 million customers.

💧 The good news: WSSC says the drinking water remains safe at this time, and there is currently NO boil water advisory.

⚠️ But WSSC is asking customers to conserve water immediately to help maintain system storage, preserve water for fire protection, and reduce the possibility of a boil water advisory.

If you’re on WSSC water, for now:

• Take shorter showers
• Avoid outdoor watering and irrigation
• Limit unnecessary toilet flushing
• Hold off on laundry and dishwashers when possible
• Turn faucets off as quickly as possible

The Potomac plant normally supplies drinking water to roughly 75% of WSSC customers, so conservation can make a real difference while crews work to restore power.
