To be more sustainable, Campbell Farms is using rEarth containers this year.

All of our premium annual products, are employing 4.3" tall pots and carry trays made from recycled water bottles.

Over 2.2 billion water bottles are thrown away each year. Last year, rEarth products removed 72 million bottles from landfills. Recycling these plastics uses 60% less energy to produce (over new plastics) and rEarth containers and trays can be recycled curbside with your water bottles!

Ask for our products in participating Bimart and Wilco Farm stores stores in Woodburn, Lancaster and Keizer Salem, Newberg, McMinnville, Stayton, Oregon City, and Molalla, and help reduce the 1.5 million tons of plastic waste produced each year.

We will all dry out. Keep the faith. In the meantime, think about rhubarb.

You know. That weird, underappreciated, garden edible from our childhood that was so amazing in summer pies with vanilla ice cream? Maybe mixed with strawberries? Thinking of rhubarb makes me feel 12 years-old again--and that is saying something!

This year we are offering gallon Crimson Cherry Rhubarb starts from 2 year old stock. Sweet versus tart, this rhubarb is nicely balanced but leans a little to the tart side.

This plant likes a little bit of shade, but once established, expect fat, prolific stems that will produce for you year after year.

And, hopefully, take you back a few years.

It was so nice to work outside today. We had sun. It was dry. I walked from greenhouse to greenhouse without water flowing down my back. At my age, I am growing more hair deficient, so I am like a duck, but, still.

10.3 inches of rain in one month is quite enough, thank you.

It would be really nice just to fast forward to spring--pun forthcoming--maybe even jump? Let's hop, *ugh* shall we?

Yes, Campbell Farms is selling hops starts. Our nugget hops are resiny, bitter, and the second most commonly grown hop in Oregon. Extremely popular for brewing. http://beerlegends.com/nugget-hops

The plant also serves as a vigorous vine growing as much as 20 ft. in a year, Very suitable for a trellis, arbor, or filling a fence line. And they are strong attractors of bees, and butterflies.

Beautiful, beneficial, and beer? Get it here.

is the mother of Millenium Hops and ranks second for the amount grown Oregon and by 1991 had taken over 14.1% of U.S. hop production. Wow.

More berries and another Oregon first (I'm sure the old farts and millennials among us are not surprised)! I would like to present to you the Canby raspberry produced here in 1953.

This berry has strong canes to hold its abundant fruit. It is cold hardy and nearly thornless. Among all raspberries you are likely to find, this one is also the best for flavor, color, size, firmness, and productivity. Good information on planting your Canby raspberries can be found here: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/plant-canby-raspberries-25482.html

Campbell Farms will have them, but this is a select item and we will not have very many! Look for that green marquee sign 3 miles east of Woodburn and 9 miles west of Molalla on Highway 211 and pull in.

After all the record setting rain we have had, I am sure we are all looking forward to the promises of Spring and planting our future harvests.

We will be open in a scant two weeks time!
