This will be our last week. The blackberry bushes are loaded…20 minutes to pick a gallon. It’s the last week because there just isn’t a lot of green/unripe berries left. This heat has turned everything really quick. Side note: I’ve been busy in the kitchen the kitchen. My favorite way to use lavender sugar is in brownies. Unfortunately (no will power here), Grace loves to cook so she tried her hand at these brownies and they are divine! And since all the berries have been early, I’m going to have time to try some recipes for jams that some of our customers have been telling me they have used with the lavender sugar….tbc.

Yesterday we planted 300 lavender plants to refill the beds that were destroyed by the 2023 winter. Next year will be the first year that we will have 500+ lavender bushes in bloom at the same time.

We caught our swarm today. This is the second swarm of the season. Both times the bees have attached to a bale of peat moss. I’ve always wanted to ‘scoop’ bees.

Six weeks of TLC and the plug plants are looking more like bushes. I tagged the lady who inspired me to propagate my own plants. Her gardens are beautiful.
