Farming is not easy and glamorous, but I love doing it and wouldn’t trade it for anything. On Sunday I noticed our farm got hit with Army Worms and were in all our fields and even in our yard around the house. A few phone calls later our friends showed out and came together to help us out. I really want to thank my friends who went out of their way and stopped what they were doing to help us get them sprayed and save our grass which we rely on heavily to feed our animals. If you want to know what you’re buying , buy from the farmer! This picture has store beef(left), and farm beef(right). There is an obvious visible difference between the two, but the differences don’t stop there!

The first thing you may notice in the picture is the color difference. The store bought is pumped full of additives and water. There isn’t a guarantee of where that beef came from either. Yes, it may have USDA label on it but as long as that animal was packaged in the US, it can be called a Product of the USA. It could have came from Argentina, Canada, or Brazil.

The beef on the right is darker and is farm raised beef. It is filled with more nutrients & flavor. The ground is also from one cow and not just scraps.

What a great experience to go out to Gardiner Angus Ranch and be able to purchase one of their bulls. They have some of the top genetics and one of the most proven herd in the business when it comes to carcass data. We are extremely excited to be able to incorporate their proven genetics in our herd so that we can continue to produce an even higher quality of beef for our customers. This was definitely a trip to remember and I am so thankful for getting this opportunity to go and learn even more about our industry.
