We are finally having a calving season for the first time in years. Two calves within 10 days and four more cows showing! It is like Christmas morning to see the new calves taking their first steps. Both Moms have done a good job taking care of them. Thanks to Zack Dixon for getting the calves and cows into the barn.

If you are missing a polled black Briangus cow that is a little crazy (if pushed) she is on my farm - where Petty Gap meets Jimtown Rd to form Burt Rd. She is the only black short haired cow on the place. None of my close neighbors claim her so maybe she came over the ridge from Hollis Creek.
Picture to show why she stands out on my farm.

We all survived last night. The fox were grinning ear to ear playing in the cold snow. The Highlands have pushed their hay bales where they want them and are now eating. The chickens and rabbits just wanted me to close the door to their coop so it would stay warm. Hope tonight goes as well.
