Moss Mill Berry Farm is a small pick your own berry farm featuring blackberries and raspberries and a developing winery. At this point we have 40 rows of blackberries, 8 rows of raspberries . The blackberries are doing well and we should have several thousand pounds of berries this year. The raspberries are coming along but seem harder to establish. A good fall crop is expected and early pickers s
hould find enough tempting raspberries early summer. We are adding about 10 rows each year including apples and blueberries. The thornless will ripen in August so we planted several varieties of thorn type to provide for an early season. Both our Choctaw and Chickasaw blackberries are looking like ripening by June 1with the remainder covering the summer and fall. Chester (thornless) - Produces a large fruit that is both very sweet, and flavorful. Chickasaw (thorny) - Produces a large fruit with good flavor/sweetness
Choctaw (thorny) - Produces a medium fruit that is mildly flavored, with smaller seeds. Kiowa (thorny) - Produces the largest fruit of any blackberry on the market, and poses excellent flavor
