🐝✨ The bees are flying! ✨🐝

What a beautiful sight today — every single hive is showing signs of life! After these cold stretches, seeing them take to the air again never gets old. 💛

Did you know honey bees are amazing housekeepers? During winter, when temperatures are too cold for them to leave the hive, they do not use the bathroom inside. Instead, they hold their waste for weeks (sometimes months!) until we get a warmer day like today.

When temperatures rise to around 50°F or above, they take what’s called a “cleansing flight.” That’s when you’ll see them buzzing around the hive entrance — they’re stretching their wings, relieving themselves, and getting right back to work. Talk about patience and teamwork!

Inside the hive, worker bees are constantly cleaning cells, removing debris, and keeping everything tidy to protect the colony from disease. Clean bees = healthy bees. 🐝🏡

Days like today mean spring is on its way… and our girls are gearing up for a busy season ahead. 💐🌼
