Today’s Sunday Tasting is Château de l’Escarelle Le Pacha Rośe 2024 🌸🦋

From a 1,200-hectare estate in Provence’s Sainte-Baume Regional Natural Park, with 110 hectares of organic vineyards planted on limestone soils. Named for the rare Pacha (Foxy Emperor) butterfly found on the property.

A fresh, elegant blend of Grenache, Syrah & Cinsault, with notes of strawberry, pear, peach and citrus, balanced by bright acidity and a subtle mineral finish.

Negro Angelo & Figli has been farming the hills of Roero, Piedmont for generations, crafting wines that let the vineyard do the talking. Farming organically and embracing minimal intervention, they bottle wines with purity, energy, and a true sense of place.

This unfiltered 2023 Arneis is bright, mineral, and wonderfully expressive. Citrus, orchard fruit, fresh herbs, creamy texture, and a honeyed finish all come together—but only after you give it a good shake. (Seriously, they insist.)

From the sun kissed hills of Sicily, Alessandro Viola’s craft shines. Many already know and adore his wines for good reason.

Sinfonia di Rosso, an old-vine Nerello Mascalese—bright cherry, dried herbs, and layers of dusty vanilla-spice finish.

Note di Bianco, a vibrant Grillo—cooked lemon, fresh herbs,chalky minerals and silky texture.

Imported by José Pastor Selections, these two wines showcase the deep connection between neighboring Galicia and Vinho Verde through native grape varieties and traditional winemaking.

Couto Mixto Tinto(Monterrei, Galicia) is a blend of Mencía, Bastardo, Caiño Tinto, Caiño Longo, and Espadeiro. Fermented in ancient stone basins and aged in chestnut barrels, it offers blackberry, black plum, balsamic, leather, and earthy notes with a bright, dry finish.

Deu Bode(Vinho Verde, Portugal) blends Vinhão, Bastardo, Espadeiro, Borraçal, Arinto, Loureiro, and Azal. Medium-bodied and dry, it shows black cherry, blackberry, black currant, tart plum, earthy savory notes, and fresh acidity.

Two neighboring regions. Two distinct expressions. A great way to explore the wines of northwest Spain 🇪🇸 and Portugal 🇵🇹
