I hatched some Ameraucana chicks a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately one has developed a cross beak. It is perfectly healthy otherwise-eating, drinking, scratching the ground for bugs…I’m looking for someone who would like to take this little special needs chick in and give it a loving home. I will also have some other chicks available as I do not plan on keeping all 8 of these chicks that I hatched. Please PM me for more info if you are interested. Thank you 🐥 🐣

This summer I visited the nursery my son works at while home from college, as I do every summer. And every year I go there I find something new. This year I walked into one of the greenhouses and found Plumerias! They had 3 or 4 of them and knowing the only place I’ve ever seen one was the Keys, I thought there was no way I was going to keep this thing alive thru winter (in CT) no matter where I kept it in my house, let alone if I would ever see a flower come from it! Well, $60 later I decided to take the risk and see what happens. I brought it inside a few weeks ago and lo and behold…it has not one flower but so far three flowers blooming from it! Keep your fingers crossed for me that I can keep this thing going thru winter!!!

Call ducks are the not the brightest. Miss Thang here decided to fly out of the “barnyard area” with her mischievous buddy, Betty. However Betty is smart enough to fly back in after they get a quick snack while Miss Thang yells at the top of her lungs to get back in…🙄🤦🏼‍♀️🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

Saving the BEST for last…the Wood Ducks! These 4 are fairly new, two females I got a few weeks ago and the two males came yesterday. And again, this would not have been possible without meeting some of the nicest people over the last few years. I have two silver hens, a silver drake and a wild colored drake that is split to silver. I have wanted Silver Wood Ducks since the first time discovering them YEARS ago! I cannot begin to explain how ecstatic I am to finally have a pair! And yes they have names as well, Aspen & Willow (two silvers) and River & Pearl.

The “Legs Behind my Posts” (or in the background of my posts). For those who don’t know I am mom to not only two teenagers but three dogs as well. You will often find them in the background of the pictures that I post. These dogs are by my side 24/7 and if I’m not tripping over them while cooking, then they’re spying on me in the bathroom or making my legs go numb while I sleep. Here they are from left to right ( by the way, we were not going anywhere on this day. I was simply taking grain out of my trunk and this is what in returned to)

Today the White Madarins get the spotlight, Enzo & Bella. I hate to say but I think these are by far my favorite. Something about this color combo -the white with the tan markings, I could stare at them all day. They’re just absolutely stunning.
