As we celebrate 250 years of independence, we especially honor the American farmers who have shaped the nation and our heritage across all 50 states. Farmers have built rural communities, ensured food sovereignty, and contributed to a culture rooted in tradition and deep connection to the land.

We are proud to be a part of Vermont’s rural heritage, made up of small, diversified farms of all kinds who have built an incredibly strong food system that gives back to the land and our communities. Vermont’s terroir, or “taste of place”, mixes a unique flavor of the region - our maple syrup, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables - with an ethos of sustainability, conservation, and neighbors helping neighbors. We’re open! The peonies are popping, and power is back at the farm! We are so fortunate that Thursday’s tornado in Woodstock barely missed the farm and our sugarbush.

We are now open 9 to 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays and can also welcome visitors for tours, tastings, and shopping by appointment during the rest of the week.

We had the best time celebrating Maple Open House Weekend with everyone today! So many smiles and sweet treats were shared, maple sap was boiled, and we got to have some good old fashioned Vermont fun 🍁 We’re back for one more round of Maple Open House Weekend this Sunday, the 29th, so stop by and see us!

My, how sugaring season flies by 🍁 The weather has given us perfect conditions for some long sap runs through the night the last couple of nights. Nature waits for no one, and Don started boiling early yesterday morning as sap tanks became dangerously close to overflowing. It’s a race to boil sap down into syrup to make room for more sap coming in from the trees. After a midday break to clean the evaporator and RO, we kept boiling until midnight and filled 12 barrels with beautiful Amber Rich maple syrup 🍁

Our second Maple Open House Weekend starts tomorrow! Hope to see some friendly faces at the sugarhouse for the festivities 🍁

Maple sap has been flowing every day since the start of the season. We’ve collected over 80,000 gallons of sweet sap in the last 10 days with no signs of slowing down. Tanks have been filling steadily overnight, so Don is already concentrating sap with the RO (reverse osmosis) to make more room in the tanks. We’ve got a long day of boiling ahead!

With Maple Open House Weekends coming up, Meg has been bottling syrup into the night to make sure there’s enough to go around 🍁 Warmer days are best spent looking for leaks in the tubing system so we find time where we can to get it all done. Sugaring season is a wild ride, but we wouldn’t have it any other way 🍁

The moment sweet steam rises through the air during the first boil of the season is a special one. After a long, hard Vermont winter, we see a glimpse of spring, and the maples wake from their winter slumber. The next several weeks will be busy at the sugarhouse as we gather sap and craft it into delicious liquid gold 🍁

Goodbye 2025 maple season and hello 2026! 🍁 During every boil, we take a sample from each barrel that’s filled so the syrup can be graded according to Vermont standard. Last year, we made 4,350 gallons of maple syrup and boiled over 325,000 gallons of pure maple sap from the forest in our backyard.

The color and flavor change as weather patterns shift during the season, and the “stained glass window” is a snapshot of our season and represents a lot more than syrup. It represents long days and nights working tirelessly to craft an exceptional product, tradition passed down over generations, and a heritage that is strengthened by sugarmakers across the state.

Now, we’ll empty the shelves and start the 2026 season with a clean slate. Time will tell how the season will go, but we’ll be enjoying every minute of it 🍁 Here’s to a great sugaring season ahead!
