It's always the little things that make a family business special.

These past two weeks we had two of our cars serviced. (I know, bummer.) I'm not going to write about the amazing people that work there, because they truly are. I'm not going to write about how well they got us back on the road, because they did.

I'm going to write about a little thing. As adults we take care of kids, work, extended family, pets and if a farmer, livestock and/or crops. Each one depends on adults to keep them safe. That being said I can't remember the last time someone said "take care" when doing something. It's just expected as an adult. Weird hu?

As I sat in the very long school pick-up line in silence before the kid craziness started, I looked up and read my tire rotation reminded note.

At the end it said... "Please drive carefully!" I think the last time anyone said anything close to that was when I first drove a car. Instead of a command, "Drive Safe".. it was a kind ask. I don't know why that touched me, but in the quietness of the car, it sure did. Enough so, that it's still on my mind on a Friday night, after a long week of work, kids activities, and farms chores.

Family businesses are important. They care and I 'm so grateful.

Learning about Mother Nature is wonderful, wouldn't you think? Understanding where our food comes from. The love a farm puts into everything they do. The worry. The joy. The tears. The conundrum. The laughter. Soggy socks. The Love.

A side note: Can you find the lost Kunekune in the background? He's always getting into mischief and was happily reunited with his mama after this recording. Haha
