This week, fingers crossed, our family gets back to neutral.

The last month has been non stop, and our fall break was even crazier. It’s felt like every minute of our life is accounted for. And while we are still busy people, the calendar seems to be less colorful.

So this week we are getting back to foods we know and love and resetting. Because honestly I don’t know if I have the mental stamina to come up with fun and festive right now.

Cheers to a week of recovery. Go pull beef from your freezer. And if you find your freezer a little empty, you know where to find us 😉

We took our free-range ranch kids to Disneyland. The social experiment mostly survived.

They rode coasters, met characters, admired the fireworks—and evaluated everything by ranch standards:

Can you climb it?
What kind of engine is that?
Are there animals?

The fireworks had competition from our home skies. The rides were fun, but they’ve bounced around in a pickup. And while Disneyland has carefully designed adventure, the ranch has its own kind of excitement.

Different worlds, different magic—and we loved watching them experience both.

We wouldn’t trade this life for anything. But standing in line without scouting a shortcut, gate, or hole in the fence? Still a work in progress.

Loved the experience. Glad to be home. Thankful for all the memories from the happiest place on earth.

It’s our fall break. That means vacations, weird hours, and my kids constantly asking what’s for dinner.

Inspired by our Roaster Box (that’s free shipping this month 😉) we are enjoying how versatile and long lasting one of our roasts can be.

So help yourself. Take meat out now. And if you find you are short on some beef, you know where to find us.

Not every cut of beef gets to be the ribeye. Somebody’s gotta do the heavy lifting around here.

And who steps up? Who goes the distance, the extra mile, the long haul?

It’s the roasts of course.

We’re talking slow-cooked Sunday dinners, Tuesday night tacos, Wednesday’s leftovers disguised as an entirely new meal, and a crockpot that’s doing more work than the rest of us combined.

Our Roaster Box packs approximately 20 pounds of premium, pasture-raised American Akaushi beef packed into 9 cuts for $240.

That’s about $12/lb for beef raised right here on our family ranch. And a whole lot of nights you don’t have to wonder what’s for dinner.

Because good beef doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions. Sometimes it’s just making an ordinary Wednesday a little easier.

And for October, we’re picking up the shipping tab. 📦

Order your Roaster Box today and make dinners a breeze this slow cooker season!

Ma’am. Your department is beef. Please and thank you.

If you’re going to raise kids on a beef ranch, they might as well develop expensive taste.

Around here, “quality control” usually looks a lot like Dad cutting off bites of steak and mama-birding them down the line until everyone gives their official approval.

For those who are new around here, we are Hackberry Hill Ranch — raising Akaushi beef, raising kids, and apparently raising a panel of very opinionated steak critics.

Glad you’re here. 🤘

It’s a short week for us, so the menu is simple. We’ve got a family favorite, a fall tradition, and my morning routine all covered.

Help yourself out friend. Pull your beef for the week now! And if your freezer looks a little sad, I bet I can help you find a way to freshen it up 😉
