GCS is looking for their annual summer intern. Interested individuals must be a high school graduate and pursuing a degree and/or career in agriculture. A valid driver's license, ability to lift 60+ pounds, and willingness to get out of bed and come to work every day without staring at a cell phone is required. Common sense and knowing how to lace up a pair of work boots is also preferred. Job duties include customer deliveries, crop scouting, field signing, and general warehouse work. GCS will close at noon on Wed Dec 31 and be closed all day Thurs Jan 1. We will re-open on Fri Jan 2.

This is where the cowboy rides away. Thanks to Strand for the last 5 years and all he has done for the family here at GCS. We are very grateful for his contributions to the team effort here and it was fun watching him grow & develop his skills & personality over the years. If you get a chance, give him a shout sometime and congratulate him on his next steps as he moves into his new home with his soon-to-be bride and they start their life together over in Lexington Indiana. While we are sorry to see him leave, we are even more excited to see what the future holds for the 2 of them.

Waxy corn is an extremely important segment of our business and we often get questions about what exactly waxy corn is and what it is used for. Bayer can explain it better in this attached article than we can! We had several questions from non-waxy corn growers about it during our plot event so we thought we would share this article. Thanks for reading!

Most waxy corn products are yellow and look almost indistinguishable from yellow dent corn in color and shape.

Thank you to everyone that attended the plot tour last night. We appreciate your support of our business and look forward to seeing what all these new products have to offer in 2026. Hopefully the weather plays nicer next year! If you would like a private, individual walk through of the plots, let us know and we can take you through them anytime, but harvest is fast approaching!
