Tonight, we grabbed dinner at Sophia's Mexican Restaurant. It's what replaced our favorite Veracruz after it closed suddenly in July. It was actually our second time dining, since going by shortly after opening. One thing that's different about Sophia's than Veracruz is the menu. Maybe because I knew my favorites at Veracruz, the menu at Sophia's seems so much larger. The two things I have ordered - the pollo jalisco and the burrito verde - were both very good. My one complaint is the salsa has been inconsistent. The first thing we went by it lacked flavor. This trip it was too salty. Veracruz was well known for its delicious, if heavy on the onion, salsa. I never want to come off negative, and I am a big supporter of dining local. I just wanted to give one bit of feedback. We will definitely go again, and it is a welcome addition for those who live on the south side of the City of Wynne. Our city has a plethora of Mexican dining options, and without a doubt, all of them have their strengths. In just our two visits, I think Sophia's is in their varied menu. It's also a beautiful restaurant and decked out for the fall/Halloween season. If you haven't visited yet, make sure it's on your restaurant checklist.
