HEZA RIO RASCAL
AQHA #3306383
1994 sorrel stallion

Sire: He'za Rio, AQHA #3306383 (by Power Rio, by Power Command, by King)
Dam: Steal A Sweety, AQHA #2755933 (Hancock & Joe Reed breeding)

"Rascal" is a 1994 AQHA sorrel stallion. Stout and solid, he stands just shy of 16 hands. He has a wonderful disposition. He passes this great attitude on to his offspring, along with athletic ability and willingness to learn.

This stallion displays foundation breeding at its best. Although Rascal is unshown, his daddy, He'za Rio, did it all . . . he was a R.O.M. sire, and was the Reserve Grand Champion Stallion for the Year in the Panhandle QHA (back in the 70's). Rio earned AQHA points in English and western pleasure, halter, & barrel racing; I also used him in team roping and trick riding.

We began to build our breeding program primarily to promote the bloodlines of this outstanding stallion. I got him as a 3-year-old, back in 1973.
He'za Rio died with his head in my lap at the age of 26.

Rios Royal Tuffy, a 1994 daughter of He'za Rio. One of our finest broodmares, she carries the bloodlines of King on both her sire's side and her dam's side. Her foals are awesome.

HE'ZA RIO was truly a horse who "did it all". I got him when he was a three-year-old to show in halter, western pleasure, & English pleasure. He went to college with me at West Texas State University. Rio earned AQHA points in halter, western pleasure, English pleasure, & barrel racing. He became my barrel horse. In the OWHA and other Ohio horse shows, we competed in down-and-back and flags (as well as several other contest events). He was my trick riding horse. Finally, he was my heeling horse. But, most of all, for over 20 years, he was my very best friend.

Rio never bred an extremely large number of mares, but his offspring were athletic and good-looking, with wonderful dispositions and willing attitudes. He is a Register of Merit Sire. Our stallion, Heza Rio Rascal, Rio's son, displays all of his best qualities, and has passed these on to his own offspring.

HE'ZA RIO was by Power Rio (by Power Command, by King). Power Rio was an AQHA Champion, an AQHA Superior Halter Horse, an AQHA Superior Reining Horse, and an AQHA Champion Sire.

HE'ZA RIO was out of Melody Wolf, an AQHA Champion Producer and an AQHA Superior Halter Horse Producer.
