The last of these beauties until next year. This variety was a substitution I had gotten instead of something else a few years back. The first year we grew it we hated it because it was too vibrant. This year we loved 🥰 it! It goes from pale to very vibrant on the same plant and always adds pizazz to any bouquet or arrangement. We restocked the stands. Enjoy the last of the dahlias!

When cutting gomphrena in truck loads to be dried, we find it easier to bend the stems and pull, which has them break easily, making it much faster work 😊 Although we had a beautiful dahlia and gomphrena day yesterday, the frost today ended the dahlia color finale. Bittersweet, but we are looking forward already to our dried blooms and holiday wreath making! We love being able to work outside daily. You truly feel nature and the slight changes in weather or other natural patterns that the environment holds. Happy Sunday!

Harvesting before the frost! We are collecting seeds from certain flowers for next season and getting ready for our winter cover crops to go in so that our soils have nutrients for next year. We will have mixed bouquets throughout the week and then we will take a break before the holiday season. If you haven’t signed up yet for our wreath making classes, they are online and a fun way to start the winter season!
